DeBrincat for 11th pick, rip.
Qualifying offer way toooo much. Dont think this happens at all. 0% chance. Could be later round pics for a 2nd if Ottawa has. Maybe Debrincat being traded opens up spot for Garland.

I'm surprised to see we actually have 7 picks this year. Really hope we can find a gem in the later rounds.
The Canucks have consistently drafted well in later rounds. We havent always kept the players but Im confident Allvin and co will be able to find some gems in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Id give up our 11oa + our 2024 1st for any of those on your list
2023 1st
2024 1st (unprotected)
for Dobson
or
2023 1st
2024 1st
Hoglander
for
Jiricek or Nemec
Overpayment on both in my opinion.
1st, 2nd and a prospect for Dobson
Jiricek and Nemec
1st in 2023 and Lekeremmaki for either of them but would lean towards Nemec

Draft Wish List (excluding top 5 (Bedard, Fantili, Carlsson, Smith, Leonard)
1a. Michkov - better be running up to the podium to pick this kid if hes there at 11 which is doubtful. He's our next Pavel Bure.

2. Reinbacher
3. Benson
4. Simashev
5. Willander
6. Wood
7. Honzek
8. Danielsson
9. Moore
10. Barlow

Here's the way I think about it. The following players are all but guaranteed to be taken in the Top 10 (in no particular order):
1.Bedard
2. Fantilli
3. Carlsson
4. Smith
5. Michkov
6. Leonard
I have no idea what will happen after this. Which puts the Canucks in a pretty good position. If the Canucks pass on Benson, I would be extremely disappointed, but not surprised. Aside from that, I wouldn't be pounding the table in disagreement if the Canucks selected any of Moore, Simashev, Reinbacher, Barlow, or Perreault. If the top 6 shakes out the way I've listed above, the Canucks are guaranteed one of those players.
I also like Wood and Danielson, but I think each of these players is just a small notch above.
Agree with all except Michkov.
Bedard
Fantili
Carlsson
Smith
Leonard
Reinbacher
These 6 are the only guaranteed selections for the top 10. Everyone else could fall out of the top 10 including Michkov.

Getting a 2nd rounder would be great. Even better if we trade a couple of 3rds to get a late 2nd round. Then trade two 4th rounders for a late 3rd?
Then a late 1st for the late 2nd and late 3rd

So, MTL might move down and VAN might move up?
Geez, who would the Canucks take at #5 if they had it?
Sure, they could take Michkov, but he might not even show up.
D - Reinbacher or Simashev?
W - Leonard or Benson?
C - Dvorsky or Danielson?
I take Dvorsky or Reinbacher
Package our later picks with Rathbone for late 1st or a 2nd and grab the opposite at that pick. Defenseman if we take Dvorsky and Center if we take Reinbacher.
Dont feel its worth moving up to 5 for the assets it will cost. 3OA or bust.

I still think Yzerman will take a forward at 8th if someone like Benson or Leonard is there. He can draft his D with his second first round pick at 17th. But we'll see what actually happens.
I think he does the opposite. Not alot of top end defense prospects, especially ones that skate and move the puck like ASP.
I think ASP at 9 and a center like Yager/Barlow/Moore etc at 17 depending on whos left. .

To CLB:
Miller
11th Overall Pick
To VAN:
3rd Overall Pick (Carlsson)
Bean or Peeke
Throw in Hoglander or Rathbone as a sweetener if needed.
Hoglander and Rathbone are not the same player. Bone could be thrown in as a sweetner, but hoglander would be an overpayment

Players wanting out of Calgary are all represented by the same agency. Maybe it has nothing to do with the players and everything to do with a rift between the flames organization and the agency? Doesn't make sense but there's more to this then players just wanting out despite Sutter leaving. Dont think this has ever happened. This will be 6/7 players that are refusing to sign with their current team.

Love hanifin but cost to acquire would be more than Id be willing to stomach given the UFA class this year. Our offer will most certainly be outmatched.
However, given the desire to bring back Schenn, why not bring back Tanev as Hughes partner instead. Tanev could still play 18-20 minutes alongside Hughes and improve our PK. I believe the salaries are almost even. With Pearson coming back, there is a greater need to move one of Garland or Beauvillier.
Tanev and a 4th
for
Garland/Beuavillier and Rathbone.
We could still go out and get Schenn to play 3rd pair. I also feel Wolanin needs to be given a shot with the big club. One of the top defenseman in the AHL last season and looked good with the big club late in the season. Hirose may not be ready for top 4 minutes but would love to see him get a shot out of training camp. Tanev would be a great mentor for him.
Sign Barbashev to a 4 year/20 million deal to play 3C until Raty is ready and then can move him to the wing.
Kuzmenko Pettersson Mikhayev
Hoglander Miller Boeser
Joshua Barbashev Podkolzin
Karlsson Aman Pearson
Hughes Tanev (20-24 min)
Hirose Hronek (18-22 min)
Wolanin Schenn (10-14 min)
Juulsen
Demko
Silovs

Poll among scouts who's the best defenceman in this year's draft. The outcome is that scouts view Reinbacher as the best defenceman by quite a margin. Reinbacher had 18 votes whereas Simashev got "only" 5 votes. I also like simashev, but you have to take the "russian factor" into consideration. Canucks fans have already experienced the Russian factor with the likes of Tryamkin and Kravtsov (not willing to put in the time and effort to make it in the NHL).
Possible ASP gets taken and Reinbacher drops to 8-10? Maybe Allvin is expecting as much and would explain his comments on moving up.
First 4 are set from 1 through 4th OA
5-10 could be anyone but most likely Leonard and Dvorsky take 2 of those 5 spots. Michkov im hopeful goes to WAS at 8 and Benson at 9 to DET.
Whats the cost of trading up one spot? Would STL take a defenseman over a center? Would they take ASP over Reinbacher?
So many questions. So few answers.
1. Bedard
2. Fantili
3. Carlsson
4. Smith
5. Leonard
6. Dvorsky
7. ASP
8. Michkov
9. Benson
10. Danielsson
Nahhh scratch that, would be surprised if the draft played out this way. Oh well, Willander, Danielsson, Moore, Wood, Simashev are still high quality picks.

Would you?
Trade 11th oa pick to Detroit for their 17 (our previous pick) and 24 years old and 6'06 tall Centre Michael Rasmussen ?
in a heartbeat
Simashev or Willander may likely still be available at 17. Maybe even Honzek who is probably my favorite player in the draft after Fantili and Smith
