  1. Wouldn’t mind seeing Dorset packaged with a mid level prospect in order to get us a pick in this draft. He’s great on the pk and forecheck but once gaunce is healthy Dorset becomes a little bit redundant. Canucks could carry Archinald as the 13th forward and put him in on games they might need a greater physical presence. If Dorset was on a 1.5 mill deal, maybe it’s no biggie keeping him around as the 13th forward. But it’s gunna be hard watching 2+ million sitting in the press box.
  2. If Dorset gets injured they could still call up Brock and bump some one down the lineup if they aren't playing well. Just because vets are a lock to make the team doesn't mean they are a lock to receive the best minutes E.g. If Brock is lighting it up in Utica and Granlund is not playing very well, you can bump granlund down to centre the fourth line and replace him with Brock. For or the record though I don't think grandlund will struggle, just hypothetical
  3. He's probably doing around 275 in the clip (45+45+20+5) on each side plus the bar. Decline actually makes it a bit easier to push the weight, less strain on the shoulders and all. But it is hard to stabilize which is why he almost drops the bar and his feet are all over the place. Still really encouraging that that he his lifting that much weight. Guys spend years training just to hit 225x1 rep. Hopefully this translates to him pushing guys around on the ice
  4. Pretty hard to learn "battle level and puck pursuit" when you're the best player on the team and playing against players who simply aren't as good as you. Better to put him in the NHL where he needs to learn to bring his A game and play well away from the puck in order to have success, rather than play in Utica where he's not forced to adapt.
  5. Gotta imagine that goldobin in Utica is a mistake. Unless he has a bad training camp (which is possible) he should be a top 6 player on the Canucks next season. He's a top 6 or bust type of player, I'm not sure how is game can develop in a league where he is already a top player with his current skills. Partnering him with the Sedins (for example) would allow him to gain confidence in the league while being mentored by two of the best leaders in the organization. While he may not be a full blown NHL player, I think his development will be best helped by learning from real NHLers, and not by playing in a league where he can get away with bad habits.
