  1. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/beagle-leivo-provide-boost-desperate-canucks/ MacIntyre is speculating that Gaudette is being sent down to make room for Beagle. That means Schaller stays up. I dunno, I don’t think Schaller deserves it, but I feel good about Gauds getting some first line center duty down on the farm, and hopefully becoming a leader down there.
  2. Oooooohhhh, I’m going to get roasted, but putting this out there: “ “ Well, I guess he’s playing his cards close to his vest. It is uncomfortable that he’s playing on the same program that Fox and Vesey do/did.
  3. Meh, he’s going to make more of a difference on the Comets than he would on the Canucks. As other posters have pointed out, Utica is super thin up the middle.
  4. Then I don’t understand the point you’re making. You want the young guys to play, but ahead of the core, and then supported by Ahlers? Correct me if I’m wrong.
  5. Kero, Carcone, McMaster, Biega, Bachmann, Sautner= ECHL scraps? Aside from Dahlen and Juolevi, the other prospects haven't played regularly, because they haven't been good enough.
  6. I can be a debbie downer as well, look at some of my previous comments, but I think you might be a little unfair here. The prospects down on the farm, Lind, Dahlen, Gadjo, and Palmu, all excelled in their previous leagues. Dahlen, was a 20 year old Allveskan MVP, Gadjo made Team Canada (where he managed to score a few goals), Palmu was the Finnish League Rookie of the year, and Lind put up more points last year in Junior than he did in his draft year, despite playing less games. Nobody here, I'm guessing yourself included, expected these guys to struggle as badly as they have. But that's the nature of development in professional sports, it's a crapshoot. You can't predict humans. Having said that, I agree, Cull has lost the room, and this point, if things don't turn around at some point this year, I think there will be a change.
  7. Another loss tonight, 4-2 to the Belville Bulls (who aren’t fantastic either).
  8. Maybe Sid can comment on this, but I saw a Twitter feed claiming that Hughes has an 85% defensive zone controlled exit rate this year. To put that in perspective (if true), a great controlled exit rate is 40%+.
  9. I watched the first period, thought he looked decent on the PP, but not too much other than that. To me, Jasek looks to be playing with more confidence as the season goes on. Can't say that Dahlen is playing with less, just his progression hasn't been as noticeable as Jasek's.
  10. I would add Arch makes a cool $250,000 when he's on the farm. If that's thankless, sign me up! Haven't bothered to look Biega or Bachmann's cap hits. Arch's two-contract sees him make $750,000 when he gets a cup of coffee with the big team.
  11. The Devils up tonight, last time we played them, they took us out behind the shack and beat us a good one! Think it was something like 5-0 ten minutes into the first.
  12. Listening to a podcast on sports net with a reporter who covers the Comets, Ben Birnell, I think, and he said Olli was getting an MRI today in the city. So we should know something, hopefully, by the end of the week.
  13. Crikey, lots of roster movement. Aside from Olli, it's all good news though.
  14. Rosenhek at the Canuck Way is speculating that Olli flew to Vancouver to see if his knee needs surgery or not. If yes, that probably ends his season
  15. 3 goals in 20 games isn’t exactly screaming call up.
  16. Good enough to be scratched last night.
  17. Ok, maybe a silly question, but I noticed Demko using smelling salts as he skated back on the ice to start the third. Is this anything to be concerned about?
  18. A writer over at the Athletic, Halford I think, said he talked to Cull the other who said “Lind is getting close.” Take that for what you will, this coming from the same organization that said Juolevi had a “minor” lower body injury, only to fly him out to Vancouver to see a specialist a few days later.
  19. Medical specialists are making a killing off the Canucks this year. 1 groin specialist, 1 concussion specialist (two different Canuck players) and now a knee specialist. Soon, there might be a queue of them just hanging around outside Rogers Arena. "Any jobs today guys?".
  20. Anybody know anything about this guy? How long he's out for? Why is nobody talking about Kole Lind?!!
  21. I would say at this point in the season, Jasek is out-playing Dahlen.
