  1. Thank you for the kind words my friend. There are a few people I admire on this forum and you are one of them. You possess what I consider are the most important human traits, kindness, compassion and empathy.
  2. Thank you my friend. Hope everything is well in your world. I will say one thing to the parents out there, treasure those moments with your kids, even when they can be a bit painful. Apart from our loved ones time is the most precious thing we have, it can never be replaced once it's gone. I never thought I could love someone the way I love my son. Time with him is the most precious thing I have.
  3. Cheers Mike. 2 times you have received invited back into this league after I disappeared with out a word. I will never forget your kindness.
  4. Right back at you Brother You are a great friend.
  5. Yes most days it's a struggle to just live ATM. It's so messed up that the cause of my distress is my son, and the only thing that's keeping me going is my son. Hope you are cruising along mate. You will always be a whatthenuck brother to me. Squeak and Sharpie as well.
  6. As a team that is rebuilding I hope that the league is not raising the cap floor. I don't want to be forced into offering larger contracts to UFA'S just to hit the cap floor. Also while I can understand to a certain extent why the league is doing this, cap space is a factor that all GM's have to deal with. IRL we can see how crucial this is. What kinda pisses me off is that IRL most of the increase in cap space is eaten up by the " stars" signing contracts that take up 10- 12 percent of the cap. They state they want to win then hamstring their teams by demanding these cap eating salaries. If that was me I couldn't look my team mates in the eye. Winning is far more important than money to me, and what comes with winning is immortality, ones name on the cup. Next year one team will have 3 players taking up 30 million of their teams cap. Willing to bet they won't win the cup. Hockey, like any team sport, is a game that involves all players, all playing their roles. A champion team will always beat a team of champions as the NHL illustrates. This is all stated with respect to the other 30 GM's in this league. I hope I haven't offended anyone by speaking my mind, something I have always done, and will always do.
  7. Hey JIAHN Hope everything is alright with you. Just PM me if you want a chat or to just throw some Sh!t around. Always here my friend.
  8. I used to buy a few CD's, 10- 20 at the start of each ski season, then for flog them for the season. Now decades later I am transported back in time when I listen to them. 1995, Punk in Drublic, NOFX, sitting on the sundeck of the Snowbird hanging out with my friends. 2003, Everything Sucks, The Descendents, washing dishes and prep cooking with my friend Brad in the Snowbird kitchen. 2004, For Dancing and Listening, Guns 'n Wankers, doing ski hires for school groups. So many good times....... This one is for @luckylager
  9. The Redwings will not be offering contracts to Marc Michaelis Craig Smith Keith Kinkaid Blake McLaughlin We thank these players for their contributions to our organisation and wish them well. We will be offering Qualifying offers to Cal Foote Anthony Beauvillier Alex Turcotte Matthew Phillips Jonas Rondbjerg Akil Thomas Nathan Legare
  10. Posted this a few months back, these guys rock so hard. So good live, really tight sound. Amy states these guys are one of their influences
  11. Nothing like a good mass-debate !
  12. Interested in how you come to this opinion on these players. Both HOH and Hammer have presented a really good case for Sale. Scouting reports for Dvorsky I have accessed and posted make a good case for Dvorsky. I know Dvorsky is a bit of a polarising player however he has played extremely well within his age group. His numbers in the Sweden's second tier haven't blown anyone away however he was playing on a pretty average team. Some of the traits he displayed were a bit typical of a younger player playing in a men's league. What pushes me over the top with him is his work ethic, apparently it's off the charts. He certainly has the IQ and tools to succeed in the NHL. Who do you think we should draft and are you willing to post your thoughts regarding a list ?
  13. Ansell sponsored a free skiing comp at Hotham 20 years ago. We had this promo in our bar, we filled up a mini inflatable pool with their silky smooth lubricant, dudes would then wrestle in it. One of my friends came up against this massive dude, he was sh!ting himself, so we told him to take off his underwear. When he did this the other guy freaked out and got out of the pool. I will never forget the look on the massive dudes face. Good times.....
  14. Bishop seems pretty relaxed to me. One of the nicest guys on this board. You're the poster using caps. Bit raw telling others to relax when you're " internet yelling ".
  15. My first round This is on pure talent/ hockey IQ, work ethic and what I consider achievable upside. I am also taking into account positional value. 1 Bedard 2. Michkov 3. Carlsson 4. Fantilli 5. Smith 6. Leonard 7. Benson 8. Barlow 9. Dvorsky 10. But 11. Danielson 12. Moore 13. Perrault 14. Wood 15. Gulyayev 16. Honzek 17. Reinbacher 18. Sale 19. Yager 20. Stenberg 21. ASP 22. Ritchie 23. Musty 24. Willander 25. Edstrom 26. Simashev 27. Gauthier 28. Heidt 29. Dower Nilsson 30. Ziemmer 31. Cristall 32. Dragicevic This is still a bit of a work in progress. I kinda change my mind the more video I watch and reports I read.
  16. I can't remember if you have posted a top 11. Are you willing to do so now ?
  17. This list is made by a computer algorithm that only takes points into account. Not what was the quality of team/ line mates, role, minutes played, work ethic $hit I could go on about the intangibles. Apart from watching much video as I can, residing in Australia makes it harder to to access games, ie watching a players performance in complete games. So I read as many scouting reports about each prospect that I am able to access. In Quentin's case https://thehockeywriters.com/quentin-musty-2023-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/ I really like how the hockey writers give a risk reward analysis, how correct it is can be debated, however it is a starting point. They state he is a bit of a risk 4/5 however high reward 5/5 https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2023/05/25/quentin-musty-scouting-report-2023-nhl-draft/ https://smahtscouting.com/2023/03/28/scouting-report-quentin-musty/ https://www.mckeenshockey.com/nhl-blog/2023-nhl-draft-ohl-quentin-musty-lw-sudbury-wolves-scouting-report-video-review/ These are just a few that are not behind pay walls. As you can see these reports all state much the same thing. The big standout that might hold him back is his skating. Apart from the obvious, talent, IQ, work ethic is right up there for me. You can have all the talent in the world yet if you're not going to work hard success will not happen, especially at the elite level. Sh!t I got bugger all talent, it was a will to win/ fear of failure , do anything I had to do to achieve my goals that filled my trophy cabinet, MTB, and made me one of the best free skiers ATT. Like I teach my son, never, ever give up.
  18. Oh thanks for posting, any information pertaining to the draft is both helpful and interesting. While I understand what they are trying to do, this misses on quite a few fronts. If you want to get into the obvious " fault " ,they rank some players on their performance in the games they played in the senior leagues, not taking into account games and points scored in the junior leagues played by players who played in both leagues this year coming into the draft.
  19. No Stramel or Halttunen in a list 250 players ? Oliver Moore at 48. Williander 185, Strbak at 184. Edstrom at 163. Just to name a few that are completely way out of the general consensus of most scouting reports/ organisations. I hope all the other teams are focusing on this list. Data driven Eh ? Did Dubas have anything to do with this list.
  20. In this article it is being reported that none of the Russian players who played overseas this season will be attending the combine https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2023/06/snapshots-vancouver-pettersson-combine.html#ref=home
