My first thoughts when we trade for Bowey was that it was a low risk high reward deal, and it was possible he could turn it around. After a few chats with my buddy who is a Red Wing, he assured me that it was highly unlikely. I'm keeping expectations low, and will be pleasantly surprised if we see him get any ice time on the Canucks with our current depth chart.

Did he tell you why specifically?  Would be interesting to know.

PB.. this Teves is looking like a young cross between Bieksa/ D Keith.. I’m impressed

Haha!  Looking back through these old Schenn posts, this is the one that caught my eye!  Where did that Teves (Bieksa/Keith) kid go anyway--Green better have him in the top 6 next year for sure!!:towel:

I would have liked him here at about 1.5 for the 4th line.

I was thinking/hoping along those lines too.  My only concern would be with his skating.  I'm not familiar enough with him to know if his skating would be up to Green's standards for a 4th line energy player.  Being listed at 230 lbs. makes me wonder if he has a bit of a weight problem, and if so, how slow he is?

  4. Anyone who thinks that OEL suddenly just deteriorated and lost all his skill at age 28-29 needs to seriously rethink their position.  For a player of his ability, there's just no way.  I can say with 99.9 accuracy that he got burned-out from being the heart and soul leader of a perennial doormat in Arizona, and that the thing he needed the most was a change of scenery.  Being here in Vancouver, with all the skilled youngish players surrounding him and the Sedins in his corner, I have no doubt that he will resurrect his career.  Mark my words!:gocan:

  5. I may be the only poster who actually remembers this, but Ferland's signing reminds me of when Pat Quinn claimed Behn Wilson off waivers in 1988.  Having Wilson on the Canucks roster would have been awesome.  He was a physically dominant, nuclear warhead of a defenceman, who would have filled all of his teammates with the courage they never had before.  Unfortunately, he was damaged goods and ended up retiring at age 30, without ever playing a game for the Canucks.  An equally sad and very similar story.

Odd thing to admit. I think hed likely have a more positive reaction if he said.....

”Yeah sometimes i like  to do the welsh wiggle with the local sheep, but eriksson sucks.”

Canucks fans “Yeah screw eriksson! Good pick! Welcome to Vancouver! Not many sheep here though.”

I'm sure he has no idea how Eriksson is viewed by Canucks fans.  His thinking was most likely:  'Here's another Swede who plays (played) on the Canucks.  If I say that I'm a fan of his, their fans will love me too!'  It's likely just as random and as innocent as that.

He was the one with the most goals for sure, but look at that defenseman, Dmitri Kuzmin. 1 goal, 4 assists.

Also the goalie looks pretty good for a Belarus team. https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/1675/belarus-u18/2020-2021?tab=stats

I'm intrigued by the player, but I want to re-iterate (and echoing other posters) that we should not rush this guy, as I said in previous posts.

So he had the most goals, least assists and highest minus in the top 10 on his team.  Sounds like he may be a bit of a one-dimensional player at this point, who is probably going to have to focus on developing more of a well-rounded, team-oriented approach before making the jump to NA pro hockey.

Haha, my brother played hockey with this guy in Peewee, his dad was the coach.  That team also produced another fringe NHLer.

Good for Brad signing with his hometown team.  Must be pretty awesome.  He'll be great depth in Abby who can be called up and actually play NHL games.  He played 59 games for the Wild in 2019-2020.

Whose name is.......  I think you forgot part of your post!

So now Sutter and Hamonic make sense.
    1,5 Sutter

    2,5 Hamonic

    Miller Petey Boeser

    Garland Horvat Hoglander

    Pearson Dickinson Podkolzin

    Motte Sutter McEwen

    Lockwood

    OEL Schmidt
    Hughes Hamonic

    Rathbone Myers

    Juolevi

    Demko

    Holtby

Don’t see this roster fit under the cap tho.

By priority we need to get ride of Holtby, unload Virtanen then Schmidt if needed.

    its 12M here, again.

    What'd you do with Highmore??
