Why do people assume things?
Also why, when people assume things, is it almost exclusively negative, things?
I agree, but on the other hand, imagine how boring it would be around here without all that assuming going on!

It looks like they've added a little blue & white syringe to our avatars to show who's been vaccinated on CDC..........at least that's my interpretation.

I think the most logical conclusion is to admit that we don't have enough information to conclude why he had so much difficulty with the bag skate.

That idea only comes to fruition if this is Shaw's baby picture:

He’s played 3 seasons in the AHL and put up a point a game last season. He has nothing left to prove in that league.
He needs to be given a shot with the big club now. His mix of size skill and grit are just too good to give up on.
Losing him on waivers in order to give MacEwan or Bailey a spot would be beyond idiotic. Those two were given shots and would 100% clear waivers.
With Sutter out Miller can move to center and Dickinson can take the 4th line. I think we saw Green playing with that idea in practice.
Hoglander Pettersson Boeser
Pearson Horvat Podkolzin
Chiasson Miller Garland
Gadjovich Dickinson Lockwood/Highmore/DiGiuseppe
Those look like reasonable lines. Just missing someone to dig the puck out of the corners/do the board work on the first line. If you can see your way to swapping Hoglander and Podz, then you're talkin'!

I think you missed the point Jim
It must be a very difficult decision to make
Loosing a career over a possible, unknown chance you may infect your kid
and the countless possibilities that come with that decision and its outcome
Do not be surprised if he sits out the season.....I know I won't
I feel for him, if that is what it is....it would be gut wrenching
Hockey is just a game.......let's hope it is much simpler and nothing to do with that

Here's something I don't know if anyone else mentioned yet. Garland was second in scoring in the 2021 World Championships, and led the US team in scoring by a fairly wide margin: https://www.iihf.com/en/events/2021/wm/skaters/scoringleaders (seeing the photo above led me to Google this

All comes down to waivers.
No one is claiming him on waivers. So he’s a better option to be called up and maximize our depth.
Possibly, but Green also likes to make a point of rewarding the depth players who put in the extra effort to make the team by making space for them on the roster. I just get the impression that Di Giuseppe will be that guy.....but we will see soon enough!
-
My early prediction on Di Giuseppe is that the more Green sees of him, the more he's going to realize that he has all of the qualities he covets in a 4th line winger. My money is on him winning that 4th line spot over Highmore -- you can take it to the bank!

Madison Bowey coming in 2nd and looking surprisingly good as well.

Who's the dude helping him?

Wonder if Tony DeAngelo actually got himself fully vaccinated? If so, it would probably only be because he realized that it would be the final nail in his NHL career if he didn't.

I have tickets for Friday morning and just realized I may have a problem. Entry requires your vax pass and government issued photo ID. I just got my driver’s license renewed and only have the paper temp one right now, so no picture. I wonder how sticky they are going to be at the door about this? The wife has hers so hopefully 3 out of 4 will be good enough. If any of you who go tomorrow could let me I’d really appreciate it. Oh well, fingers crossed. We are excited to get our first look at all the new facesSo funny you write this....I had exactly the same issue. I was thinking of taking my passport, then thought maybe I should take my Nexus card instead, because I can put it in my wallet and I'm less likely to lose it. But now I don't have to worry -- right on cue, my driver's license came in the mail today! I got my new photo taken on Sept. 10th, so hopefully that gives you some idea as to when you can expect your license. If yours still isn't likely to come before the weekend, don't worry, your passport should be fine. But consider taking your Nexus (if you have one), if you want something you can fit in your wallet. BTW I had the same concern when I went to vote on Monday, and I knew they would want some photo id. Luckily, the accepted my temporary license for that!

Looking at the UFA list and seeing Bobby Ryan sign a PTO with Detroit yesterday, Chiasson looked like the only mildly interesting forward left, so I'm not too surprised. I am surprised that he doesn't kill penalties though, since that's what we need in a replacement forward now. He has decent size, but I have to say that I always thought he'd play a more physical game than I recall him playing. Hope he picks it up in that area if we do sign him.

Ken Holland says Duncan Keith just agreed to get his first vaccination. Says that it was a "difficult" decision for Keith to get vaccinated and do his part to keep from potentially spreading the virus to his teammates. Keith is reminding all what a quality individual he is once again....just in case we forgot.

This is will mean a significant downgrade to the skill our 4th line, no doubt about it.

Scott Walker was had some crazy fights. Smaller guy but never backed down
Agreed! I think of Walker as Rypien 1.0, considering he came first. Not quite as skilled a fighter as Rypien, but every bit tough as nails!

Great list, but one very notable omission was the epic battle from the Canucks' first Stanley Cup finals run that generated this famous Sports Illustrated photo
It was a battle for the ages!:

If we REALLY. have to think of Miller as a center, which I am against, but will do this time:
HÖGLANDER - PETTERSSON - BOESER
PEARSON - MILLER - GARLAND
MOTTE - HORVAT - PODKOLZIN
DICKINSON - SUTTER - HIGHMORE
MacEwen
But I do not agree with Miller as a center.
I can't see good any reason to disagree with it. Not if it can give us three lines that strong!

If the Canucks don't make it a priority to update Pod's height and weight on their roster within the next 1-2 days at most, I'm going to have to start thinking that they don't really care about any of us at CDC!!

But you still have to have an NHL Centre Ice subscription (or whatever it's called) to watch it though, right? Because I looked on the Shaw website and they have few free previews currently listed, but not NHL TV![:( :(](//content.invisioncic.com/Mnhlcanucks/emoticons/default_sad.png)
