    Not true.

You are legally entitled to not comply with an illegal search of your person or property.

You also don't ever have to answer any questions if you don't feel like it.

Yes, it can make your life more difficult for a short period of time, but then you can sue for illegal search and seizure, destruction of property and for violating your charter rights.

If the cop happens to be a power tripping dickwad, which a large number of them are, and he decides to get rough, then you can nail him for police brutality.

Cops illegally entered my house once upon a time, and they never tried that $&!# again.

    Stuff white people say.

It has been said that there can be no passengers on a team if it wants to make the Stanley Cup Finals; that everyone must contribute. Going through the Canucks line-up, I see a mass of contributors with one exception – Loui William Eriksson, with 10 games, 0 points, and zero memorable moments. Can the Canucks continue to deem such deadweight ‘fit to play’ and still make it all the way to the finals?

At first glance, not a chance. But at second glance, perhaps it may be possible.

Think back to our last big run – the 2011 playoffs. Ah yes, we had a powerhouse of now household names, like Kes, Burr, Hank, and Juice. No passengers… right?

But wait, what about Victor Oreskovich. Victor who? Oreskovich. Who the heck is that? I’ve been a Canucks fan since the early 90s, and don’t recall such a name. Yet, apparently he played in 19 of our playoff games in 2011 – that’s a lengthy contribution. In fact, that’s more games than he played in the regular season for the Canucks. It sounds like he would be a vital part of that 2011 team. Yet he too had zero points, and from the perspective of this thread’s author, no memorable moments or contributions.

So can Loui Eriksson continue to ride shotgun on this playoff ride? It looks like we have a precedent in Victor Oreskovich.

Oreo was to that team as Bailey is to this team. Not a Loui comparable.

If those three were to make it to the open market (and I'm assuming at least 1 does, if not 2) -- I'll put my bets on the following markets signing them... Again, this is if the Canucks don't re-sign them.

Markstrom -- If he's not in Vancouver, I expect that Detroit will make a hard press for him. And honestly, it might make sense for that to happen. Vancouver can't tie itself to another bad contract and Marky is already 30. Giving him a 5 year deal puts him into that 35 year old/36 year old range by the time the deal ends. We've got DiPetro and Demko in the wings. It might be a rough transition next year but the Canucks can live with him if he were to walk and take a big payday in Detroit. Detroit will be out hunting for a netminder as they rebuild. Buffalo and Ottawa may also be places he lands as a goalie.

Tanev -- If he's not in Vancouver, I can see a team like Pittsburgh (where his brother plays) or Montreal (who could use a solid D man) making a run at him. I wouldn't count Winnipeg out for him either. They could use a veteran D. I believe Tanev will be the most likely player to re-sign. If he signs elsewhere, it will be to a contending playoff team that wants a defensive defenseman to anchor its middle pair.

Toffoli -- LA makes a lot of sense. He loves it there. They have the cap space. And they could flip him again. With that said, he may be out of there plans and thus be out of luck. Can see Florida, San Jose, and Minnesota making runs at him. I think if he's not a Canuck, he'll probably end up on a team that's in a "hot weather market". Seems like a guy who loves the California lifestyle. Wouldn't rule out Anaheim as a landing spot too but that seems like the biggest long shot.

Also, based on the playoffs, I think there's a very good chance Virtanen gets dealt. I think the Canucks will trade back into the 2nd round of the draft this year and use Virtanen to do it. With guys like Podkolzin, Hoglander, Lind coming -- I just don't see where Virtanen fits into the long term picture of the club.

Marky- Watching Marky play this playoffs he has been amped up huge smiles crazy kamikazi plays. You're right hes 30 I think he wants to play for the cup not go to a rebuilding team. He probably takes a sweetheart deal.

Toffoli- Unfortunately he got injured. But importantly he helped get us to the dance. When Brock and Marky went down the Canucks were plunging. Moves will need to be made to keep him moves that are probably much more costly than what JB paid to acquire him making the cost too high. I think he walks.

Tanev- I think Tanev has proven what an essential piece he is. He is the ultimate warrior and team dad I don't think we can afford not to re-sign Tequila.

so i closely watched last years winnipeg jets vs st louis series and honestly if Trouba wasnt an idiot in the corner with like 20 seconds left, i feel like winnipeg would have taken that series.

We are a very similar team to winnipeg when our players are actually playing. good offense, weak ish d, and good goalie.

WE NEED TO STOP PLAYING DUMP AND CHASE FFS

have controlled enteries and thats what the blues d man have troubles beating. Watch the video for proof.

when we dump and chase we always end up getting pounded and we can't steal the puck from the blues strong and tough defenseman. Its time for a change. we need to skate fast, and enter the zone with control and take shots off the rush.

    * also countless times i hust see us dump the puck in or ice it 24/7, and like how it was said below. DONT DUMP if you have to change, keep possesion while u change*

Last years weak winnipeg D corps of.

    Trouba Buff

    Morrisey Myers

    Chiarot Morrow Kulikov Niku

Also the very first play in your video is Winnipeg scoring off a dump and chase.

    Just sayin!

I was rethinking my impression on bad trades too. I looked it up. I think I may be wrong about Benning and bad earlier trades.

    http://www.nhltradetracker.com/user/trade_list_by_GM/Jim_Benning/280

I got an impression of bad trades without really thinking about it from things like Goldobin and Dahlen and all the other duds we got, but Jim doesn't often give up much, does he? And the Dahlen trade might turn out to be a thing in our favour. They say Linus Karlsson is developing into a possibility.

Hey, help me out with something. There was one I thought was a trade but maybe it wasn't. Who was that smallish Swedish defenceman we had as a prospect who some say had all kinds of talent? He might even be in the NHL now. I'm blocking on his name.

    Gustavo Forsling

One of the problems was Myers missing, Fanta played well out there. You don’t sit a defensive D out to put another offensive D in when we are already short in that department.

Rafferty comes in will mean more ice time for the top 4 which are already pushed past breaking point

Exactly. Now our only option is to keep attacking aggressively. If we're defending we simply don't have the bodies to sustain. Nux can win this series but they won't win it playing 2 goal games.

Finally some people not blaming Stech for not being in 2 places at once.

I feel for Stetcher he has a big heart and he wears it on his sleeve. When he took a shove went down and did a tripple sow cow getting up again he completely lost the play the Blues player just strolled right on bye him and shelfed it.

    TSN turning point.

We can't defend them so we have to keep them defending. We can beat them with our skill.

  8. Had to know the defending champs weren't just gonna lie down and get steamrolled. We're in a dog fight now. This is exactly what the kids need. How they respond tomorrow will be very telling. I think we gotta get Gaudette back in. Virtanen wasn't terrible but he hasn't been good enough he should be %@#$'n dominating with the weakest defensive matchups as the Blues hands are full shutting down our top 2 lines.

The loss of Myers was very evident tonight. Myers haters take notice.

    Miller Pete Boeser

    Pearson Bo Loui

    Motte Sutter Gaudette

    Roussel Beag MacE

    Hughes Tanev

    Edler Stetcher

    Benn Rafferty

As long as we keep them defending we're winning we simply can't shut them down so we must stay on the attack.
