  1. To me, top 9, puts up 15-20 goals, 15-20 assists, for 800k that's a win. Anything better huge win, and he has the ability to be better so...time will tell
  2. LOL, but let's be fair...if we lost out on him there would be people calling him Fabian Brustrom 2.0 here (same one's saying he could be as good as Kaprisov, a week ago! lol, not that he is but,...)
  3. He does not jester and do not call him Shirley! lol
  4. sure but you're missing the context of the debate My point was if Kuzmenko was solely driven my maximizing the value of his next contract it would be a no brainer to sign to play with McDavid and Draistatl because he can max his value by scoring bushels full of points and thus up his value. Kane is a perfect example (regardless of if no one wanted him), as the guy just potted 39 pts (22 goals) in 43 games in the reg season, and 17 points (13 goals) in 15 playoff games. He went from totally toxic to someone is going to pay him big money again. Therefore, someone like Kuzmenko if looking to just make bank would want to sign there because he will score a hell of a lot of points. And as our friend who can't comprehend basic logic doesn't see (not you) he's not toxic and therefore even more teams would want him - thus upping his value even more than say a Kane. I am not sure why I am debating that someone only looking for money only wouldn't want to play with McD and Drai, I think its bloody common sense. Hell I played junior hockey and could score 25 goals playing with those two.
  5. I thought Try was pretty fast no?
  6. Bo Re-signs 8 years 6.7 per year Miller Re-signs 7 years 7.5 per year Boeser re-signs 3 years 6 mil per Myers and Pearson to Pittsburgh for Marino and Kapanen - pretty close cap wise Sign Lybushkin - 3 mil per Sign Mikhayev - 3.5 mil per Sign Deslauriers - 1.5 mil per Sign Paul - 3.5 mil per If our mgmt team can pull that off....you can probably move Garland then for an even better upgrade on RD. (just realized as I edited). Petey Miller Boeser Kuzmenko Bo Podz Mikhayev Paul Kapannen Delauriers Lammiko Lockwood Hoglander (maybe in Abby to work on his game). OEL Lybushkin Hughes Marino Burroughs/Rathbone Schenn Poolman
  7. Evander Kane signed in Edmonton....why? Because he's a UFA this season and money was all that matters to him Clearly its not ALL for Kuzmenko... There's a perfect and direct comp for you Blockees!
  8. So what You think a guy like Kane who was radioactive isn't getting PAID this offseason by someone? Dude
  9. Well clearly money will be a factor, if he gets 90 pts he's not signing for 2 mil a year for one year is he? But play semantics as you please....my point makes sense and you want to avoid admitting that. If all he cared about was maxing his second contract there's no way he doesn't choose edmonton, that's common sense
  10. Then why wouldn't he have signed with Edmonton and played with McDavid and Draisatl to rack up points? Its clear money isn't his only motivating factor.
  11. Not Kaprisov by any means but definitely at top 9 guy, great shot, mobile good speed not great, and a competitor. A good signing and hopefully he's a top 6 guy but at worst could be a solid 3rd liner who adds offense from that line giving us more balance. Someone posted earlier, his point totals in the KHL would translate into an approx 65 pt forward here...so first line potential. I kind of think of him as a Burrows type player in terms of comparisons.
  12. No Because the oilers will miss and win the lottery and get Bedard...NOOOO
  13. yes, so if he plays well we better make him happy! Having Podz here certainly helps!
  14. I guess you're not understanding my point. I will clarify it for you. Yes he can only sign a one year deal, so everyone has to pay him the same for this year But, if his goal was simply to get the maximum second contract he can, he would undoubtedly sign with a team that can allow him to rack up points such that he can get a huge deal after this coming season right? Where would your best bet be to do that? Would it be on the Canucks? Or being promised to play top 6, and top PP time with McDavid and Draisatl. Clearly the latter. His decision shows that his sole priority isn't to max his next contract, its to go somewhere where he likes it and can potentially see a future.
  15. He and Podz played together on the same line in Russia. They have chemistry and fed off each other very well. I will be surprised not to see them as wingers on the same line.
  16. Dude...he's signing for 6-7 years at that number, and if its 7 mil the Canucks will have zero issue signing him to that.
  17. Depends....He's coming here for a reason, if it was just to maximize $$ he would have chosen the SOilers because there he's playing with the top 2 offensive players in the world. He chose the Canucks clearly because he felt better about management, the long term plan, and likely feedback from Podz and maybe even Ovie (about Bruce)...players talk and all know each other. It's clear money next year wasn't his sole motivator, as again, if it was he certainly wouldn't have chosen us.
  18. Tuch is a heck of a power forward dude. He can skate and hit, and while Boeser has put up better numbers over his career, he's often hurt and slow. The point was you're not getting Tuch and Buffalo's high first...so no I'm watching the same game, just on earth not mars.
  19. For sure, but sure feels good to us win one for once! And its a nice endorsement of our new management team...they are good enough to draw the most coveted non nhl ufa to us despite a rough season and a team still in flux. When you consider how many teams wanted him, its a very nice sign.
  20. One thing to note. As Alvin and JR continue to show they are capable of making successful moves from positions of weakness (ie moving Hamonic for a 3rd, now signing the most prized non NHL UFA, after a tough season and lots of things still in flux - and lets not underestimate what they just pulled off...its significant given where our team is vs the competition for him)....it sends a STRONG message to the existing players. They say wow, we have real management here now. And maybe things are going to get a hell of alot better really soon, and I love this city...so maybe taking less money isn't so bad. What happens when you're at a great company, with great leadership, and you like who you work with, and enjoy your work? Does money become the top priority? No Money is usually the top priority only for those who are obsessed by it, or who hate where they work and its the only thing keeping them there. Many athletes are the same. Yes some are money obsessed, but many are focused on winning, liking the city they're in and getting paid fairly, but not always to the top dollar. I do believe, this move is going to send a signal to Bo, Miller and Boeser, that, hey trust in us, take a little less, we're going to build the team around you. But you need to take less so we can. These are the types of moves that players get excited about, just as we are, because its sending a signal that management is going to do their job, not just yammer about it. I suspect Bo, Miller and Boeser are probably thinking a bit differently today than they were yesterday. And if so, kudo's to Alvin and JR. Thoroughly impressed by what they've achieved already in such a small window of time. It's making me excited and optimistic again to be a Canucks fan! Famous last words! haha
  21. Doubt we're getting Tuch and a first for Boeser... Tuch was scoring as at 63 pt pace, is from Syracuse NY (close to Buf) and doesn't want to go anywhere, loves Buffalo, they love him. Even one for one, he's probably worth more than Boeser.
  22. Podz and Kumenko will play together, they played together in Russia and have chemistry. Pearson, Garland likely out. Then maybe one of Miller and Bo. I wonder if this signing now makes Bo and Miller think twice about max dollars.
  23. Good to hear. I knew they played on a line together but hadn't see any of his game other than vids now posted here and the usual write ups. I like the fact he chose us because its a strong endorsement of our management team / coaches and their professionalism and class, not only him and his agent but clearly others they talked to around the league and for certain Podz.... Having both him and Podz together here may even bring more out of Podz because of the chemistry, and even some brotherly comfort. It will be nice for Podz to have a countryman and friend here as well. Smart move by the Canucks
  24. Maybe Joey is the best that have there....it is Edmonton LOL!
  25. Strong skater, quick release, can dangle, and wears #96...clearly was a fan of our #96....Alot of PP highlights so hard to judge there but a few dangles in there really showed off his hands in tight. From what I've read is he's a uber competitor so from these highlights and assuming his competitiveness is high, he seems like definitely a top 9 player and hopefully top 6. He also played with Podz on a line in Russia so some natural chemistry is already established on ice which will ease his transition (and off I'm sure) Great signing and thanks for the vid!
