Sure hoping the Flames rest Markstrom and serve us up Rittich .
I would ride Marky if I were them , but maybe they feel overconfident.
Markstrom had the whole third period off last night so should be good to go.

Montreal is pretty deep. They essentially roll 3 lines pretty evenly time wise. He’s playing with Kotkaniemi and Armia. Also. Drouin has issues. But talent wise he’s much better than Toffoli.
Having watched the Habs games Toffoli must be a big disappointment for them. He has looked very average hence the 3rd line. However, as a team the Habs are playing fast and furious and very well defensively. We are in big trouble if we play like we did in the last three games, could lose all three. Lets hope the change of scenery works some magic!
Go Canucks

This team has to many players in roles they can’t play. Toffolli is a huge loss.
Thanks to Jim absolutely crippling this team.
If it is any consolation Toffoli was horrible in the Montreal game tonight

OK...a random thought............
Eriksson was owed 8 million over the last 2 years of his contract
2020-2021....................$3 Million in bonus + $1 Million in regular salary
2021-2022....................$1 Million in bonus + $3 Million in regular salary
So, 2020=2021.......................loan him out overseas.............................off books and bonus has been payed.........his loss will be 1 Million minus his SHL pay
2021-2022..............................invite to camp..........................................pay $1,000,000 bonus.....................loan to SHL.............his loss is $3,000,000 minus his SHL pay
A together, his loss will be reduced by 1/2 at minimum.......................Luoi gets to go home.
Any idea what his SHL pay would look like?
How does the pension formula play in to the situation if he retires?

Leadership can be displayed in other forms than running around hitting people and fighting.
Let me show you a list of current captains. Theres maybe 2 or 3 that fit the mold of CDCs perfect Bo.
https://www.hockey-reference.com/leagues/NHL_2020_captains.html
Funny... I dont see lucic on there... which is basically what half of CDC is describing.
Also worth noting that bo is the 3rd youngest captain on this list. Maybe you guys can cut him a little slack?

Can only lead with in the boundaries of the coach’s systems and philosophy. Otherwise, that’s being the opposite of a leader.
So passive coach = passive players?

Ok Here it is you want to know what’s going on with Bo, here it is.
He’s been used as a shutdown centre because he’s the best player we have that can handle those minutes. He’s worn that responsibility and as team captain on his sleeve. That’s what Bo is doing to try and help this team win.
A defensive forward he’s walked away from being the retaliator because he doesn’t want to be in the box while his team try’s to kill off a pentaly or avoid fighting major because he would be in the box for minutes while the other teams top players are out. He isn’t hitting as much because he doesn’t want to get caught of position. He’s just as gritty As he’s always been along the boards. But he also has the responsibility to provide secondary scoring.
He’s probably still going to get better in all aspects of the game but this has been no easy task for the first year captain.
Green was his coach last year and the year before
Get that .... But playing scared won't win a Stanley cup

Why? We have other players for that.
11 minutes ago, Alflives said:No expectations. Now, in these last 30 games there are expectations, and there is pressure. Poor systems and passive philosophy will stand out more now, than when there were no expectations.
Like who? Bo needs to show real leadership

Coach green holds Bear to a higher standard too. He even publicly said that Baer was soft skill, and he wants hard skill. To me Green talks a good game, but it’s all just a facade. He is a softy, and the veteran players know it. Now our young guys are starting to lose confidence. There are only 16 games left. I’m just hoping Green doesn’t do too much damage to our young players during that time.
Call up Goldobin and Baertchi and rest Petterson for the playoffs ........................ LOL ........ next year

For sure Green will play those two (and Sutter) regardless of how soft the trio play. Our young good players must be getting extremely frustrated with our coach. Hopefully, things don’t explode, and we can just finish the season.
Pray for a lottery win?

The fly by stick reach no body on body plays are just bad hockey. Why doesn’t Green sit guys who play like that? Sutter is the worst!
The forecheck should have been schooled how it is done by Arizona last night. Our D were hopeless against them.

Green after the loss - "ARI is a good team, they needed this win too and had something to play for, it came down to a few lucky bounces, but I thought we played well."
or they could win

I don't agree with Green a ton, but I think Markstrom played fine. A couple unlucky bounces. The problem today was more defense than anything else.
He let in two clearly stoppable goals tonight.

Well the boy was over 80% on the dot.... who would you send out to win the face-off?
Good question.... so there is no-one else?

For all the complaining about starting Bo in OT.... he won almost every single draw during the game, so Green puts him out for the opening F.O. in O.T hoping to start with possession. Unfortunately he lost that draw and McKinnon showed his class...
Don’t think the idea was wrong at all...The pic helped

Bo won just about every draw throughout the game and even the commentry commented on how amazing he was on the dot, so why would you not let him take to opening draw win O.T.
Can nobody else win a face-off?

Although as a casual observer it seems to me that Schmidt has caught the Vancouver ailment of turn-overs and missed passes out of our own end. I have been disappointed after the hype of landing him.
