  1. Yeah, Hernandez murdered multiple people and Roethlisberger has bought his way out of a few sexual assault cases and thats all fine but Sherman actually talks a bit. Thats going to far.
  2. Number 3 receiver in Seattle. They have never found a way to get him the touches he needs to be worth his pay grade. He gets paid super star money but he cant run all the routes and is limited in how he can be used effectively. He was just not a good fit in Seattle averaging 50 yards per game this year. They can sign a couple decent receivers for what they were paying Harvin. Guys who can fit into Seattles system rather than trying to change the system to fit them. Also guys who wont be A holes in the locker room. For the money he never panned out in Seattle. Its not like hes the reason they won the superbowl. he just put the cherry on it. Hopefully he is a better fit in NY. They need it. EDIT: How is it that a guy whos so fast and has such good movement has such a hard time getting open downfield?
  3. The age old 'I was a bad guy. Then I found God. Now Im a good guy"
  4. Theres a bit of a difference: 5 of the last 10 seasons the Saints have had double digit wins and went to the playoffs 5 times 9 of those seasons with Brees 10 of the last 10 seasons the Patriots have had double digit wins and went to the playoffs 9 times 9 of those seasons with Brady The saints have gone up and down while the Patriots have been a team you could set your watch to. Thats why a stumble is such a big deal in New England.
  5. Over a decade of double digit wins every season kinda makes people start to think its just automatic that they make the post season (2008 11-5 and missed the playoffs but that was with Matt Cassel as QB). If they lose this Sunday to Cinci, and I think they will, expect the talk to become almost non-stop.
  6. The breakdown on Revis's 2 year contract with the Pats: 2014 Cap value: $7M Cash value: $12M Signing bonus: $10M Roster bonus: $500K ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games) Base salary: $1.5M 2015 Cap value: $25M Cash value: $20M Roster bonus-1: $12M (earned on April 1, 2015, if club exercises option prior to end of 2014 league year) Roster bonus-2: $500,000 ($33.33K per game if on 46-man roster up to 15 games) Base salary: $7.5M So yeah hes getting $14M this year and theres no way in hell the Pats are paying that 2015 cap hit so they wont exercise the option and he will be a unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. At this point, its looking like they shouldnt have taken him this year. Looking at how the team is playing and their schedule they are not looking playoff bound to me and they have too many holes to fill . Theres a solid chance of them losing 5 in a row from The broncos in week 9 to the chargers in week 14. PLUS they arent beating Cinci this Sunday. NFL.com has the worst power rankings anywhere. Due to having to be completely unbiased to showing any one team favoritism they cannot move a team higher or lower than 1 or 2 spots beyond their record regardless if they were steamrolled by the last place team or just barely beaten by the best team. Its not Elliot Harrisons fault, Hes straightjacketed in how he has to call it every week. EDIT: source on Revis's contract: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4760152/details-on-darrelle-revis-contract
  7. Matt Ryans squad is number 1 in ppg and passing yardage in the league. Sure its only 3 games in but he shows no sign of slowing that down at all against the Vikings. Even tho its classic big time O vs big time D.
  8. As soon as the league started marketing their players as role models and hero figures then their off field conduct became important.
  9. I saw 2 blows to the head. Well 1 was to the neck. Still, above the shoulder pads is a no-no and they went there so they got called. If you dont agree with the rules to protect players thats one thing but the refs called it correctly.
  10. Ok. Im not allowed to post on NFL.com anymore. Its a conspiracy I tells ya. Anyhow I cant say it there so Ill say it here: Whats with all this "OMG 49er were so awesome on Sunday they are the best" when all they did was intercept 3 balls thrown right to them. 2 in the end zone. Any decent QB would have converted those 2 and the outcome would have been a 49ers loss. The 49ers didnt win that game. Romo gave it away. OK,Im done now. Back to your fantasy wizard stuff.
  11. Ok Buffalo can pull from Rochester, and even Cleveland and Detroit are a couple hours away driving time. Toronto pulls from a fairly large population mass as well if a couple hours drive is the radius. The difference in local population though is immense and thats where the bulk of ticket sales are. Especially seasons tickets. Also for TV market Toronto would be "Canadas team." Which is what the Blue Jays are when they are winning though its been a while.
  12. Greater Buffalo : 1.1 million people Greater Toronto: 5.5 million people The skydome may be a problem as it seats only 54,000 for US football and there is a good reason why the combo football/baseball stadium has gone almost extinct now at the major league level. Never mind that the 2013 Buffalo game in Toronto only got 30,000 tickets sold. The tape shouldnt matter. Are they children? Do they need the visual? The whole thing is not about justice or whats fair. Its about PR 100% and I think Rice is being thrown under the bus in that regard so that the NFL brass can look PC. The REAL correct thing to do would have been to not suspend Rice but help him in getting the counseling he needs. But that would send the message that the NFL actually cares about its players.
  13. Funny, a 49ers fan talking about players staying healthy. We all know Harvins never lasted a full season before. No news there. We also know Seattle piled up a 13-3 Record last year without him. Hes a great player for sure but Seattle has enough depth to pull out the wins without him. If SF brings what we saw earlier today should be no problems. Oh wait, SF will have their designated driver Aldon Smith back by then. Same prognosis. Seattle will sweep SF this year. Bank on it.
  14. Well the team sucks but the Cowboys are the most profitable sports franchise in North America, Second in the world behind Real Madrid soccer team. So Jones is doing something right. Hes a great business man, he just cant admit hes a crappy G.M. Romo is still getting over back surgery. But still those passes into the end zone. Hes been doing this for too long tossing it into a pile of defenders. This woulda and shoulda been a close game. This wasnt the 49ers defense being dominant. This was Romo handing em a freebie. The Seahawks woulda shoved this back down SFs throat.
  15. I dunno, Marchand is a complete douche and dirty as hell. He and Cooke could both have career enders and I would be fine with it. Wilsons never so much as hurt a fly though Wilson posts daily bible verses in his twitter feed. If your not into that dont go to his feed. Its pretty straightforward.
  16. Good enough? Their starting corners are highly suspect. Culliver was mediocre to start with then missed all last season with a torn ACL and now has a ankle injury so they may have to drop below him on the depth chart lol All he is known for is trash talking about gays. And Tramaine Brock isnt exactly a "better than" replacement for Carlos Rogers or Tarell Brown who both went to Oakland . Good luck covering Dez Bryant in Dallas with these hobos. Aldon Smith is out for 9 games. Ray Mcdonald will probably be out longer. This defense is anything but good enough. Seattle is now better on both sides of the ball than SF even without the injuries and suspensions SF is facing. I dont see SF winning either Seattle game this year. Levis stadium isnt gonna have the socks rocking first year they were hoping for. The analysts at NFL.com are calling for the cowboys to pull the upset hosting the 49ers on Sunday and they slid down from 2nd to 6th on the power rankings after that horrendous preseason. You did see some of their preseason didnt you? kapernickys 0 TDs and what was it, oh yeah , total of 2 field goals when their starting offence played. "fluctuating" is a kind word for it.
  17. Lynch is faster and more explosive now than he was much of last season. He has always run like every run is the biggest run of his life but hes actually faster now than hes been the last couple years. Maybe its just that he rested the preseason and he will slow as he piles up runs. Still he was scary fast. Speaking of fast, Harvin, stay healthy. Such a versatile weapon. This is the Green Bay Packers everyones been ranking number 3 overall so far. Blown out. At least their season gets much easier after this. Shermans not gonna get to add to his interception record (16 - most interceptions from 2012 on) if nobody throws to his side of the field. Yeah. Aaron threw his way zero times tonight. Its starting to look like it was for Deon Sanders back in the day, they just dont throw to whoever hes covering. Ever. Great game tonight. IS 16-0 possible? Damn sure looks that way. 49ers sure arent gonna challenge in their heavily depleted state. They looked terrible throughout the preseason. They should be more worried about Arizona taking that final wild card spot away from them.
  18. Average indoor cat lifespan: 15 years. If you are much over that you would be dead now. Edit: Confession: I once punched a baby but in my defense he was being a total dick. I dont know what that babies problem was.
  19. I gave an exact example of how I was describing fiat currency in the same sentence and you ignored it to say how I was wrong based on another interpretation of fiat currency. Wow.
  20. So your saying June 2016..... Sorry, couldnt help it.
  21. If a fiat currency is a currency not backed by a physical commodity then Bitcoin is the ultimate Fiat currency.
  22. Well thats what they are working on in regards to regulating it, being able to track and tax it at both the state and federal level. The IRS doesnt care about state lines, they are federal and if you are a US citizen they will also go global to find your income. First of all it is illegal as it stands to not declare that income in the US when you realize any gains from the sale of bitcoins there. So if and when institutions start trading them all of those transactions will be monitored and tracked. Capitol gains taxes in the US arent that bad and are fairly close to their Canadian version. Tho the Canadian Tax man doesnt go after foreign income like the IRS does. If history is any indicator the end result will be that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It may take some time but eventually everything gets absorbed into the system even if the system has to completely change to fit it.
  23. Do you have to use terms like "antiquated" or play on words about how the Gov is full of criminals in every single sentence? It sounds like your just an angry unibomber type living in a shack somewhere and makes it almost impossible to take anything you say seriously. Yes, regulation gives the currency legitimacy. This will help greatly in it gaining acceptance and stabilizing its valuation. Anonymity is gone but thats a good thing in the eyes of the IRS and Treasury dept. Like when buying and selling any currency the taxman wants his cut of the capital gains.
  24. They are doing something right. That airline was bleeding money when SAS owned it and until the Gov stepped in in 2011. It likely would have collapsed if they hadnt bought it. Cost cutting and an improving economy in Latvia in general have turned it around. Thats right, in some countries the Government can buy a business and make it profitable. Not in Canada, but in other countries.
