pretty sure he only signed that 12yrs contract to lower the cap. why would he give vancouver any discount and signed to a well below market value contract at that time to long term? yes i'm sure he'd be fine with a 5-6 mill over 7-8 that's why gillis had to make it a 12yr contract to circumvene the cap makes so much sense... sometimes i question the intelligence of the ppl on this board.. and no one said it was a good contract.. all i said is you'd b*tch if it was 7mil over 7-8 years a shorter term like most of you wanted so regardless you guys will either bitch about a high cap with short term or low cap with long term.

It's funny Luongo never gave up more than 2 goals a game in regulation in this home stand. His sv% something like .930ish numbers that's prolly enough to win or be up there for the vezina. Yet it's his fault whenever he gave up a questionable goal? Where were you guys when he kept us up 1-0 in the first 2 periods? He gave our guys plenty of chance to get the 2-0 goal or the 2-1 goal in almost every one of the games and we failed to do so. Retards here blaming the game on him? Crawford outplaying Luongo? Apparently any goalie will outplay ours coz we can shoot 50 or more pucks at them and we will only score 1 goal. I honest don't see any real hard spectacular save made by the other teams goalie in all the games so far in the home stand. To say they outplayed us simply based on shots on goals is idiotic. How many 2-1 3-2 did we give up tonight? What about toews all by himself in front of the net with the puck Luongo poked away? Gimme a break. You guys are just blinded with pure hatred towards the guy that even if he lost 1-0 or win 1-0 it's still his fault somehow

so what do you suggest? have the canucks play all the saturday game during the day instead just so we can inundate the eastern region with canucks? can't help it Toronto Montreal plays when it's night/day time for all of canada and vancouver plays when it's night time in western canada and bed time in the east..

why do i feel that Gillis is going to take too long with this coaching thing and by the time he decided he want that coach it's going to be picked up by another team? look at eakin.. Edmonton wanted him before other team snatches him so they fired their coach and hired him the next day lol.. Ruff will prolly end up in NYR and Torts maybe in dallas.. then we'll e left with the tier 2 coaches like boucher and stevens.. not saying they ain't good coaches.. but i don't think it'll work with a veteran group.. and they really have no success in the NHL to back up their coaching pedigree

wouldn't be surprise we sign no big names during the free agency seeing how we've been treating our star players in recent memories.. i mean who in the right mind wants to play here when there's other teams that have just as good of a chance of winning as us?
