There's a good article on Yahoo Sports by Kevin Iole who places the blame on Machida's cornermen, and argues that Shogun didn't do enough to finish the fight.

+1 If they're the ones bribing, I don't think it's Dana. The UFC has more to gain with a younger, faster, likely more exciting Shogun as the champion rather than Machida. I don't think there was a fix. It's certainly a questionable judging decision, and hopefully they get this re-match soon, outside of California.

As mentioned above, the promotions don't select the judges or referees. The state athletic commissions do. Take it up with them. Knowing Dana, it could be a while before the UFC comes back to California.

No way to blame UFC. IIRC, the judges are picked by the athletic commissions. Lyoto won rounds 3 and maybe 5. But that was it. Shogun took the other three, and there's no way to dispute that. I scored it 49-46 Shogun, and I was cheering for Lyoto. Also, I was the only one in the bar who agreed with Mazagatti's (was it him?) decision to end the Velasquez fight. Rothwell suffered one of the biggest beatdowns ever. All in all, decent card. I liked seeing Neer get pummeled.

Heavyweight divisions are stupid. A big guy like that can withstand a few strikes, bring a guy to the ground, mount and just end it with soft blows. Only he didn't really end it.

That was absolutely the worst fight I've ever seen, and the dumbest stoppage. Herb Dean was so pissed at what happened. Dana said it best, that it's like having his four year old daughter on top of you raining down punches. I predict that Kimbo gets back on after an injury and beats Roy in the finale. He'll train, he'll be better.

I heard that Kimbo knocks out Nelson 4 seconds in. I hate Roy Nelson. Ever since we were introduced to that fat f*ck.

Yeah, I heard 100% that he got submitted in an arm-bar, so that doesn't seem right. Dana said that Kimbo will get a contract regardless, as well, so he must do something good.

I googled Henderson vs. Marquardt and saw that it might be at 105. Although I'm not sure how good it would be for Henderson to fight in Britain after what happened at 100.

Wait, I thought that Henderson was supposed to get into the title fight? I'm stoked to see him fight Marquardt, that fight will be amazing. Not sure who I'd cheer for. I assume its safe to think that the winner of that is next in line to lose to Silva.

I worded that wrong. My point was that Kimbo has taken a fight to a third round in pro MMA before and Roy won't be able to beat him up on talent alone. Actually, that's not true. Hell, I probably was on drugs when I wrote that post.

Nelson is a chode. He won't last more than a round. If he does, he'll be too tired. For all the talent that Nelson may have, Kimbo is just far too experienced. The awesome thing is is that we've wanted to see this fight since we were introduced to Roy Nelson. I want Kimbo to win. I like Kimbo, I had little respect for him in his EliteXC days, but he's grown on me during this UF season. I have no doubt that with a bit of training, he will become a minor contender in the HW div. Problem is with this season is that in this weight class, the guys get too tired to easily. The fights don't last more than 2 minutes. This is why the Kimbo/Nelson fight will be good. Two guys who probably have what it takes to last a couple of rounds. I still think Nelson is a fat dickhead who won't last long enough against Kimbo. S'go Slice!

I thought that Wes lost that fight. When you start gasping for air after 2 minutes - I know McSweeney was too, but he was still attacking. This is why TUF only has 2 round fights, though.

Reading the reasons, I can understand why. He was dicked around with the whole Mir injury and, in my mind, should have fought Rashad at 100. Oh well.

I haven't seen Koscheck yet, but I heard that he knocked out Trigg pretty bad. And yeah, the Story/Foster fight was awesome. So much respect for Story pulling through that broken nose. Too bad about the Miller fight. That one wasn't live, so I'm wondering why Spike chose to show it. If there's a bad way for a fight to end, it's with an injury stoppage. That arm was messed up tho.

It did because due to problems with Shaw, we didn't get to see the Griffin fight or the Koscheck fight. We got there in time to see the lame stoppage on Kampmann. The prelims were way better than the main card tho. Plus I lost 5 on Cro Cop.
