  1. What's the saying... I'd rather have a girl I can sink my teeth into than one who I can pick my teeth with afterward?
  2. I absolutely love Cornerstone. Dangerous Animals is siiick too, as is Pretty Visitors. Only track I don't really like as of yet is Fire & The Thud, but I'll let it pass because it fits along with the rest of the album.
  3. New Monkeys album. It gets better after every listen. So dark.
  4. Screw peak hour Express buses. Another B-Line to UBC!
  5. It'd be much better if they stopped allowing street parking on Broadway. Right now the issue is Broadway, not the amount of buses. They show up all the time during peak hours. It just takes forever to travel because there's one fewer lane than intended. The other option would be to have another East/West route and divert some of the transit traffic along Broadway. As it stands now, Broadway is the only road that has a significant amount of buses travel down it. The other East/West streets like King Ed, 41st, 49th or Marine Drive only have once every 15 minutes or so. They should take those buses and have a B-Line travelling down 41st, between Joyce Station and UBC. You can have it turn onto Dunbar and go via 16th or keep it along SW Marine Drive to UBC. Or they could just not allow street parking on Broadway.
  6. i'm kidding guys tho my spacebar isn't broken and i don't look at porn i just read this thread and find the pictures of girls
  7. inb4somebodymakesapostyocleavagethreadsorrymyspacebarisbrokenlol
  8. Nice to know Rebecca Catley is still alive. I'm supposed to be doing work for her, but she hasn't contacted me in, like, a month.
  9. yeah, i paid the fare, but i could have saved a good $15 or so this week. My point tho is that the woman says "the next train is for Waterfront" the second a train arrives at the platform. Then there are all the signs everywhere pointing you in the right direction. The best thing the line has is that overhead display telling you when the next train is coming and where it's going. Even the New York subway doesn't have anything close to that.
  10. There is. About 10 seconds before pulling into the station they make that announcement. The voice is real annoying. I wish there were fewer. That "this train is for Waterfront" BS that gets pulled out all the time, it's like "well gee, you told me that 15 seconds before I got on" but o well the line is great, like i've said, it's cut 20 minutes off my commute home. that's 5 CDC posts.
  11. I experienced my first delay today! Also, since opening day I've rode the train each day at least once... still haven't been checked for fares.
  12. So what sort of bus integration do I have to worry about? What are they doing with those 98 B-Lines?
  13. Icky Thump by The White Stripes why isn't that album more accepted? It's a solid rock album. Superb basslines and production.
  14. When I hopped on the train after work today, I was hoping to score a forward facing seat. No dice. People who had rode the train out to the airport simply switched sides to ride forward both ways. Still not as many commuters, though I saw a few suits with briefcases dash for the downtown train at King Edward Station today. It'll take time for it to settle in that we have actual transit in Vancouver now. Getting downtown'll be a lot easier now. I actually haven't been on a downtown train yet, but how close is a station to GM/BC Place?
  15. I didn't know Gregor Robertson was backing regulation.
  16. It cut 20 minutes off my commute home from the airport, and $1.25 off my commute to the airport. The tunnel is very windy. It will also make chasing after French mobsters much tougher.
  17. Took about 10 minutes off my trip from the airport/home. Perhaps they can take those old 424 busses and put them on the 25 route. Still absolutely zero service on King Ed.
  18. My point is that only in Vancouver can an opening of a mass-transit system actually set transit backwards. I'm glad we have the thing, really, I'm stoked, it's just that I find the people who waited in line that long quite dumb for putting up with it. The people who actually have to commute suffered today. Although I guess that post and subsequent ones were made after being pissed off after a longer-than-it-should-have been bus ride from the airport to my house, but hey, it happens.
  19. At the expense of the airport workers who will actually use the transit?
  20. I think people standing in line to take a friggin train is direct product of the fact that our holier-than-thou city councilors refuse to sanction MMA and allow a UFC event to come here, when they're practically begging. I've seen a line like that once. A warm, mid-summer day at Disneyland, there was a big line for Big Thunder. Big Thunder is at least entertaining. Waiting in line for transit is as lame as being upset that Lil Wayne was cancelled.
