You spend too much time worrying about threads. Why don't you go out some time and enjoy the outdoors?

  3. He's also going to play the 1st Doctor in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special apparently.
  4. Now I want Tortorella just to piss off the cryptkeeper.
  5. Gillis wouldn't hire him because he's over the hill and hasn't done the job for quite some time and hasn't done the job very well for much longer. I'd rather have Quinn as a GM than coach.
  6. I like when he scraps but he often either loses or goes to a draw. The important part though IMO is when a guy fights. Even when a guy lose you get to punch someone in the face and send a message.
  7. I mentioned that the big change was the change in system under AV. You do realize this team has played different systems and Bieksa has been in different roles while playing for AV right. His games under Crow he played very well which is why he earned a more regular spot on that team but again that was a minor part of my post.
  8. Kind of is actually I think; especially when it's being used to make a point.
  9. He didn't actually play much under crow. 30 games or so I think. You're focusing on a very small part of what I said.
  10. 5th in hits on the team with 60 this season. Also since he's been in the league he's gotten in between 4 and 6 fights per season other than 2010/11 where he got in 3. In this shortened season he got into 2 fights. So he hits, and fights just as much as he ever has. And Ballard does not play as gritty as Bieksa does. Bieksa may not be the toughest guy but Ballard has never (not just talking about the canucks) shown that he's some huge tough guy in comparison to Bieksa.
  11. I don't think you did. He totally answered your question. A system doesn't automatically work without the right players. You can't turn a SEL team into the Bruins just by changing the system the team plays.
  12. That's great but KB has looked good in other roles as well. Prior to his leg injury playing in a shut down role he looked fantastic. Coming back from that he seemed to be put more and more in this role of generating offense. IMO he's done very well with that but I'd like to see him back in that shut down role. People forget that Bieksa has looked good playing in different systems with different coaches. Hell he's played different systems under AV and looked good in both.
  13. No you said he should be the first to go. I disagree because he's part of what makes this team good. I think you mistake be casual with a "country club" atmosphere. I also think he takes a lot of hits for playing poorly when he gets caught taking a risk. The nature of taking these risks is that they won't work all the time or even much of the time. More often than not Bieksa plays a very good game given that taking risks is risky. (go figure :D ) When those risks work they will often generate great chances which is why statistically Bieksa is very good. People arguing that he plays poorly more often than not just don't understand what happens when a guy plays that style. Bieksa is probably the only guy on this team right now I'd trust to take those risks. Next season with a new coach and new style of play he may not be taking risks but as a huge part of what's right with this team he'll still be playing top 4 if not top 2 again with Hammer in a shut down role.
  14. What's going to happen when next season Bieksa is still playing top 4 minutes under another coach? Bieksa is a huge part of the success this team has had. First to go should and will be Ballard but if we're talking about guys who have clear roles on the team Edler should be the first to go. Calm and cool Bieksa will still be playing top 4 minutes on this team next year. The reason is because he has value on the ice. He gets into situations that make him look bad but that's a part of hockey. If guys didn't take risks (and I'm ready for the calculated risks argument that is to come :D ) we'd miss the playoffs because we'd have very little scoring from the back end. He's not the best D in the league, hell he's not the best D on the team but to say he's a huge part of the problem is false. You just don't care for him.
  15. Oh thank god I thought it was just the political threads in off topic where you made incredibly stupid and baseless comments.
  16. Have you seen Dark Knight Returns or are we not counting animated? It's by far my favorite.
