  1. Not a big fan of the losing

  2. Yeah go Saskies! I was at that overtime game in Calgary and it was weird because it was a zero zero tie with so much hockey and you're right it was like everyone was asleep. I was on beer duty that period intermission and when I came back everyone was leaving in droves and I was like what's going who won. And then when I saw their faces I knew. Nice article.
  3. Burrows for Redden, cmon MG get it done!
  4. The more I see of this guy the more I like.I think he was selected for his intelligence as well as his skill. One of the three Gillis looks for I seem to recall. This guy is freaking strong man, his forearms are like Bure's. He is probably one of the strongest guys around pound for pound. Hopefully like others said he sprouts a bit. That being said his attitude seems great and he seems to have a committment to forchecing as that one utube video pointed out. He also put up really good numbers in the AHL. I'm not sure but 15 points in 17 games off the hop is not bad for your first professional gig is it not? Edit: What are the 3? Skill Intelligence Character
  5. Hello all, been a Canucks fan since I was four ... many years ago. I will always love my Canucks and hope MG can deliver the holy grail.

    GO NUCKS GO!

  6. Your number crunching skills are a little off. Past the 3rd round = 4 teams out of 30 make it to the final 4, or 13% chance of making it past 2 rounds. Edit:Even if you consider that only 16 teams make the playoff, which shouldn't matter, that's still 25%. A lesser number than 27%. 5 out of 18 (100) point scorers made it to round 3 = or 27% chance of making it past 2 rounds. I'll take the extra 14% chance on our side.
  7. Why do I always get the feeling that PIM's are listed as a positive attribute? Penalties are not good. All that says is he was in the box 50 odd times when his team could have been even strength and he could have been scoring. I noticed the American media started doing that. They will list a guy's goals, assits and penalty minutes as if those are the 3 big stats.
  8. This is simple economics. It's called inflation. In a sense the league doesn't want to make too much money and have the cap rise that much because the market is inflated a bit right now. With the trouble our economy is in a holding pattern is probably the best way to go as a salary cap increase would see larger contracts that would not be good business once the cap comes back down. Keeping the markets small limits the competition and the overall risk as the NHL attempts to solidy itself for the future.
  9. If they offer over 5 ... something or other (not sure of exact total related to Kesler's age I believe) it's huge picks coming Canucks way. If a lower standing team were to offer I think the Canucks would be waiting to accept that as much as they would hate to lose the Kes.
  10. Cool idea, I like it. I suggest that maybe you include the person's avatar and sig as I think I know who you're talking about here but I think most of us identify by the sig or avatar as compared to the user name.
