Maybe it's just me, but the Fanatics products I've looked at seemed cheaply made, not quality material. Especially the t-shirts, you can see right through them, and that's definitely not a good look on me. As for this design, I'm a little underwhelmed by it. Not something I would spend my money on.

I used to listen to his podcast (mostly for Ferraro) but stopped as he seemed to spend more time talking about stepping in his dog's crap at home than he did talking about hockey. Plus, he was just annoying to listen to.

Dreger normally seems to just make crap up or repeat things he read on the internet. He likes to make claims/predictions on things he has a 50/50 shot of getting right. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

The only contracts that get cancelled are for guys that won't be playing in the NHL any more. Before the cap era, guys like Alexei Yashin would decide they were worth more than their existing contract was paying them. They would sit out until the team tore up their contract and gave them a raise, or until they got traded to another team who did the same. Basically, they would hold the team hostage. Luckily, under the current CBA, that can't happen anymore.

I actually don't. I think this is a better move to make in the offseason. Give the new guy a chance to start with a clean slate, with the roster he will have to work with next season. For now, I feel like they should use the trade deadline to move out players that don't fit in their plan and start preparing for next year.

Sometimes I do a little of that just so I can take a break and catch my breath. Like a power nap on the ice. But I am about 30 years past being the right age for junior hockey.

The way I understand it, it's not about the AHL, it's about the CHL not wanting its best talent leaving too quickly. Maybe this could be resolved with additional compensation for the CHL team that loses the exceptional player. Possibly reserved for 1st rounders only?
