Just look at what Gillis left us in terms of prospects and what we have now. I think he's done good. He just needs to acquire more picks because he is finding some gems. I doubt Virtanen will ever score as much as Nylander and Ehlers but if he can pot 40+ and be a physical force, I would gladly take that. We still need more grit even if Virtanen makes the team next year. Let's root for the guy instead of complaining about not having someone else.

the depth is just not there, not at the draft and not now. Edler's offensive has disappeared for years. I don't really see a resurgence happening. Hutton is very weak defensively and may provide some offense here and there. I'm doubtful he will become a top 4D. Juolevi is much needed. Of course we could use Tkachuk as well. We need talent everywhere!

Some players are able to make the jump to the NHL quicker, it doesn't automatically make them the better pick. It will take years to see which player will make have the better career and contribute more to teeir organization. It's so easy to look back and say oh we should have drafted so and so. How does drafting Juolevi stall the rebuild? We desperately need D prospects and he is one of the top ranked of his draft class.

Tkachuk would have been nice. He brings some of the nastiness that we lack especially on the left side with Daniel, Sven and Loui. Perhaps, Benning thought he had a good chance in landing Lucic in the free market. In terms of prospects we are thin on both LW and D. On LD, Edler is getting up there in age, has been injury prone and offense has disappeared.Hutton is a question mark right now on whether he can become a top 4. It must have been a tough choice for management.

If he is rotating on the 4th line then I rather see him getting top minutes in the AHL. He didn't play much last season and he needs to in order to improve. I don't want to see him become a grinder on the 4th line.

Judging by the number of games he plays each season, he stays healthy. I was hoping for Lucic instead due to the nastiness and big bodies in our division. #2 or #3 D could be way more valuable than a tkachuk. Let's hope he develops into one

Nonis had a pretty good darn 2004 draft. Schneider, Edler and Hansen. Mike Brown has made a decently living in the NHL as well. Edler is one of the biggest steals we've had in the draft.

I would be absolutely shocked if he gets close to 20 goals and 40-50 pts. Not trying to put him down or anything.

He seemed faster the first year he was here. Perhaps he was playing through some injuries last season. Hopefully, he can have a better year.

Virtanen made several shots, most had no threat to score. HIs best chance was probably the short side shot down the wing and the tip. He wasn't able to use his size all game long. Passing and utilizing his teammates needs to be better. Hopefully, just first day jitters.
