  1. I expect Boester to get it going. Needs linemates that can help him do so. Again, I don’t think the forwards are the issue. Goaltending is not the issue. The issue is on D. Other than Hughes, the whole D has small D energy. Flaccid as f***.
  2. I get your thoughts. We simply don’t have it. The priority is on D other than another forward. Thats my point and I think the underlying deficiency. Just my opinion of course and as valid as yours my friend.
  3. Who’s that bud? Lazar? We have 4 decent centres. The team needs to build around them. And it’s not the team’s Centers that are the biggest issues. It’s D-Corps. And culture of being passive and not ‘hard’ to play against. It’s a ‘weak’ team overall. There’s no body checking or physicality, aside from the 4th line. It’s just a bunch or guys who don’t want to lay it out. It’s not even close to what we all expect. Even the Sedins are probably thinking, ‘Man up and stop being such pussies’.
  4. The best games in the last half of last season were when Miller and Petey were split up. Those two centres need to stay split up in order give the team the best two scoring lines possible. Who would the 2nd Center be if Petey and Miller were put together? Horvat? C’mon man. Horvat is playing so disinterested. That’s the second line Center? Doesn’t work for me. But maybe I’m wrong and you’re right. Let’s see.
  5. You’re putting two centres on the first line. That doesn’t work.
  6. I’m sure Bo wants to be here. It’s not all on the Captain. There’s so many questions around the entire team. Top down.
  7. Lack of D talent directly affects the special teams Other than Hughes, who’s there to run the PP? OEL isn’t the same quarterback that he used to be. The team is absolutely lacking in Dcorps leadership.
  8. I mean he can’t be forced to play obviously. It’s an honorary signing. But, just for morale sake, then they’d need to discuss it with him, his agent, his insurer, Canucks doctors clearing him and on and on. There’s too many variables where Bieksa can’t play, even one game, unless he waived all those considerations and just says, “Fuck it, I’m in and ok to go”. But, ownership would be on the hook if anything went wrong, especially because Juice isn’t in game shape, AT ALL, and doesn’t know the systems and again on and on. It’s just us wanting him back in the lineup that’s fuelling this. I wonder though if the organization can’t sign him as Coach. Whether that means dman coach or just an ass kicker coach. I want him signed as a coach moreso than a player. Bieksa practices with the boys and instills the kind of experience he went through to the guys playing now. We need a guy like Kevin guiding the team culture. That, I support.
  9. Special teams is killing the team. The subpar Dcorps is killing this team. They’re related. Make Bieksa play! My point is simply that there’s no leadership on the backend. There’s plenty of leadership on the front end but when the Canucks have been ‘great’, they had 3 Leadership components. Forwards, Defence and Goaltending. The team has 2 out of 3. Demko and Petey, Miller, Horvat are all leaders. No real question there for me. The issue is on D. There’s no leadership there. Hughes is a great player, but is he the kind of a ‘leader’ that the dcorps needs? I don’t think so.
  10. Better than most of what he have now. And I think Chych is an absolute upgrade. It’s the cost that is apprehensive. Alvin ought to look at trading players, prospects and perhaps a 1st to acquire a youngish dman that helps elevate the dcorp. It’s wishful thinking of course.
  11. This team now pales in comparison. It’s a shame, but I digress. Player personal relationships made these legendary teams, over the decades, so special on and off the ice. Just wish the team had these kinda guys now and they played for each other like they did back then.
  12. The team chemistry was partially based on their relationships. And Rypper.
  13. I’m not crying as a grown ass man over another grown ass man. You are! My kid’s first Canucks sweater is Bieksa. No regrets.
  14. That thread was among the the greatest threads ever. Never got Sticky’d then, won’t get Sticky’d now. But man, what a run! It was a helluva run. Bieksa. You either loved him or you hated him. We ripped it up back in the day though. God, those were the best and worst times.
  15. Bieksa is too good to replace Cheech. He’s the only reason that most guys listen to the ‘Hockey Night’.
  16. This current team needs more ‘piss and vinegar, There’s no ‘jam’
  17. This is the best thing ever. I’m going through all of it. It’s so awesome.
