Nice 1 less top centre on the market. Maybe JR will finally get an offer for JT -

Maybe they added a D-man because they are going to send 1 to Vancouver. -

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade
brian42 replied to brian42's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
The thing with Myers is he is overpaid but not by as much as people seem to think I say only about 1 million overpaid. the Canucks need size and toughness as it is and if Miller and Myers are gone it’s a massive hole on the team. We also need right side D even before a Myers departure. with all that said I would still trade him for a 2’nd but they would need to know 100% for sure, that at least 1 very good right side D is coming back and also fill the size and toughness. garland being moved would Probly be wise simply because we have too many small guys. It’s fine to have a couple but we have too many. -
[Signing] Blue Jackets re-sign Adam Boqvist

He would have been a solid piece in a potential Miller to Columbus trade. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

Anderson is 28 and injury prone, he has a total of 60 points in his last 3 seasons combined. I would pass. yes partly due to injury but you have to keep his injury history in mind. Unlike Tanev I doubt he becomes less injury prone as he ages. -
[Signing] Canucks re-sign Brock Boeser
brian42 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
His agent said talks picked up today though with the arbitration deadline tomorrow -
darn. Canucks should be encouraging them to play him at center because the Canucks can always convert him to a winger if needed in the future. if those stats were acurate 53% faceoffs is not tooo bad but I know theres more to playing center than just faceoffs.
-
How is Linus at faceoffs? Listed as C/RW hoping he’s been playing center and has a good percentage. If so and he continues to progress would look nice as our 3rd line center.

[Report] Canucks claim Brad Richardson off waivers

Nice, over 58% in faceoffs, solid add only available because Calgary added guys. -
[Rumour] Tyler Motte drawing interest

Best thing we trade him basically as a UFA rental. Better to save the cap space for a player which competes hard, and get the assets back. -

But then he has way less trade value at that time, he’s not gonna sign a team friendly deal when he can make 7.5M for 1 year and then sign a deal after that season -

He has less value then, than he does now. QO is brutal, he’s value is as a UFA and acquiring team having a shot a a long term deal under 7.5M -

Brutal team needs a shake up, Boeser should go, he’s overpaid and doesn’t play hard, no speed. Can’t win with Boeser. -
[Rumour] Canucks getting calls on Conor Garland

Disagree Boeser’s value does drop. If the Canucks would be willing to retain salary (just for the remainder of this year) he’d come in at a 2.94 M cap hit but in the off-season Boeser won’t want to sign for 5.5 when he can get 7.5 million on a 1 year contract and then sign a longer contract after. A team would much rather have him for a cup run at 2.94M than acquire him at 7.5 in the off-season.
-
Which is the wrong way to go IMO. He’s almost like a UFA because no one wants that qualifying offer and his value drops in the off-season.
-
He would have some value even if he was a UFA, the team acquiring could always not give him the qualifying offer. Canucks could eat 50% of his salary for this year. He wasn’t far off a point per game last year and hasn’t been terrible. There’s still some value there but the Canucks should trade now before he loses value in the off-season.
