5 days of jet legged seems like a bit much. Other teams players ahve played a couple games already. Lack played great, but arent you suppose to role with the #1 on the last 21 game push for the playoffs, regardless of what the backup does?

oh yes trading them seperately is the right move. Gillis could do both now or at the draft. If he does and he gets a solid return, I would definitely have to give him credit and take back firing him. But if he stays the course and doesnt move these assets while they have their best value, we could go down the road of having to do a full rebuild and take less back and hope draft picks turn out. where i would prefer moving them now and getting back players that can play now. kesler is our version now of Linden. No one wanted him gone, but look at the return we got and how it helped us down the road greatly. This is why i would be ok trading Kesler, if we netted a good package

yes and no, they are signed longterm at a good cap hit. Both players were good, now they are still valuable but not the same player. I think it would be hard to get both from philly in a deal. Lets make it Holmgren-esque Kesler, Edler for Schenns, Simmonds pick/hagg/prospect

if we could get that i would be happy. id even add something to make it happen, nothing huge though. Thats 1 top 6 forward who is almost 30 for 2 young guys who are both top 6 guys now. Thats the kind of value we need back, not brandon sutter. Pouliot would be nice, but not as a main piece for kesler. edler is a different story

we dont want an older brittle player signed for a long time in Franzen. we move kesler for a guy younger than him who can play now

both players edler and kesler. If and when either or both get moved. We need to address our top 6. Maybe a D prospect in one of the deals. but gettting 2 forwards who can play now would be a higher priority imo

we need quality coming back, i dont want quantity or picks we have to wait for to make an impact. Rattie may be ready next year, schwartz is now. If the blues want a Cup, they wouldnt hesitate to make a deal like this. Kesler gives them a great 1-2 punch down the middle. Probably one of the hardest tandems down the middle for teams to face. Both are physical and like to hit. Stewart is for cap reasons, maybe it could be berglund instead? THink berglund halak/elliot and maybe a pick could get them Miller. Adding Miller and Kesler would really improve their team.

i think if anything edler may get moved by deadline. i would say 30% chance. Doubt Kesler gets moved, earliest i could see that is at the draft. Hansen is a player that would be sought after by teams, could package him with either of the above to get a solid return. I hope MG tries to make a move, but i sure as hell hope he doesnt move either for scraps.
