  1. Okay... *pretends that you're sane*

  2. What the bloody hell are you talking about?

  3. There's an intersection between Richmond Street and Surrey Street in New West. I'd LOL so hard if there was an accident there.
  4. Cool pic of jackknifed bus on Seymour at Hastings today.
  5. SkyTrain is now out of "snow stage 2" and into "recovery stage." Staff will continue to ride onboard Millennium Line until after rush hour. Staff will also be on the platforms of Expo Line stations until 9:30pm. I guess that's good news.
  6. Posted this in the transit thread also, but all SFU routes (135, 143, 144, 145) have resumed service.
  7. SFU routes: 135, 143, 144, 145 Back in operation.
  8. I guess now's not a good time to make an observation about what a SkyTrain entering the Sapperton tunnel looks like...
  9. And the lack of that wet white sticky stuff.
  10. http://twitpic.com/3a3gf8 -- Bridgeport this morning
  11. Via SFU's Twitter: "@Translink is doing test run using smaller bus to see if it can navigate Gaglardi road conditions before resuming service. #SFU" Now watch as a bus slides down Gaglardi Way...
  12. Freezing drizzle at my part of Richmond. News 1130 reporting heavy snow in Horseshoe Bay and parts of the Fraser Valley (Misson, Aldergrove, Abbotsford).
  13. 6cm in my area of Richmond and coming down rather rapidly.
  14. If that was Oxford Street in White Rock, they would've closed the street long before that happened.
  15. Move the Phoenix Coyotes to Burnaby Mountain.
  16. I was at SFU right before the big snowfall hit the rest of Metro Vancouver. It was already snowing at SFU but I definitely saw fish swimming in the pond. Poor fish.
  17. Flurries just began falling in Richmond.
  18. (SFU better not shut down the Gaglardi cam tonight. You know why.)
  19. CFOX says it's snowing downtown right now. Nothing yet in Richmond but judging by the clouds and the air, it's gonna start soon here too.
  20. Man, so cold. Someone's ex-wife must be back in town.
  21. A nice rap song about riding the Metro in Washington DC.
  22. I enjoy cold weather as much as I enjoy watching the LA Kings do well.
  23. I spent the day at the aquarium. Nothing like watching beluga whales and dolphins in water that might be warmer than the air around you right now.
  24. Not everyone drives. In fact, some people make it a point to avoid driving in the snow. Hence, driving over even a teeny bit of snow would result in ice, which could result in people slipping. Again, I saw so many people nearly slip on the black ice caused by compressed snow in my neighborhood. Ice is slippery in any quantity.
  25. Dear general public: I know it's only an inch of snow on the ground and it partially melts during the day, but please at least run a shovel through your walk and the road. When that snow compacts under people walking or cars' tires, it doesn't matter how little of the white stuff there is -- it's gonna turn to a layer of ice. I saw some people take a tumble around my neighborhood because of that. It doesn't have to be hardcore shoveling. Just a one-handed push of the shovel, like a dry scrape before a shootout.
