(Rumour) 4 teams interested in J.T. Miller
Pickly replied to combover's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I like JT and I like how he plays for the most part but if you can unload him and his salary you do it. -

Knowing Canuck twitter and the media they will put a spin on it and it’ll be dissected for months to come -

Our little alien maturing into a man. What a gem he is. Back the brinks truck up cause he’s worth every nickel. -
[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at New Jersey Devils | Feb. 06, 2023

They played better. If they can continue to make strides and play as a team, keep games close, yet lose a majority of them it’s a best case scenario for the draft and next season. I noticed JT seemed a little more engaged tonight and was actually playing a bit harder without the puck. The odds of him getting moved before the summer are slim to none so best we can hope for is Tocchet gets through to him, has him playing a more complete game, and playing with a less stat padding type effort. 7 years is a long time. -
Riley Stillman looking like prime Paul Coffey right there

Somethings changed because usually the Canucks get absolutely rolled by teams that are fast and so far they are doing a much better job than they have since I can remember. A little “structure” must go a long way.

[Signing] Islanders re-sign Bo Horvat
Pickly replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It’s not like the Islanders have a brighter future than the Canucks atm. They just traded their best prospect to us along with a 1st and their roster is getting older with a limited window to win. Oh well, they backed up the brinks truck for Bo so looks like they’re doubling down on what they have. -
[GDT] 2023 NHL All-Star Skills Competition
Pickly replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
The skills competition used to be must watch TV when I was a kid now it’s so gimmicky it’s hard to watch. The NHL is running out of ideas to keep this relevant. First thing they can start with is putting it in a city that actually cares about hockey. -
Example vet on arguably the best contract based on performance this season in the league not on a rookie deal. This guy was waiver wire fodder not that long ago now there’s talk he could fetch a 2nd rounder if not more. Asset management is crucial for this team if they want to climb out of the league basement and guys like Schenn need to be dealt while their value is as high as his is.
