That's good news that he's comfortable on the left wing. With Jensen kassian both being RW, if we turn out deep down the middle in a couple years, it's good to know he won't be a question mark on the left wing.. Also gives him a quicker opportunity to get a look, he won't be just waiting for a center to get hurt if he can slot seamlessly in on the wing.

That's the case every year but drouin and shunkaruk are wingers aren't they. He'll be a year older then some of the stars and they like giving the veterans the nod.. Would be sweet to have another canuck on team Canada

What do you guys think his chances are of cracking team Canada next year?.. Just a had a crazy thought about how sick it would be if the next wjc was his coming out party. If he makes a huge impression we get the hodgson type excitement back! Haha

I love the fact that he's already got a defensive game dialed and is a good face off man this early. If av is still behind the bench when he comes up he should have a better chance of sticking early.

Name one power forward in the league that's been more effective than Joe Thornton. Not even Rick Nash can say that lol

even though he was still a bit of a shaking rookie last year i could see he had alot better vision than i expected. All the scouts and his coaches are saying his passing ability is very underrated. great news for us as we have a shoot first second line centre like kesler. another good thing is his size and physicality might give kesler a chance to settle down and not try to do too much leading to less injuries.

Hahaha I was originally going to say 50bucks for whoever finds it but then I snapped out of it realizing someone on here would go turbo advance searching his highschool lol. Changed it to post of the year honors haha I just thought it was kinda funny.. Im almost 27 so I've been out of highschool for a little while and maybe things have changed.. But I don't recall any hockey players ever starring in highschool musicals.

What indications do you have that he is too much of a diva?.. Just because he didn't sign with us doesn't mean anything. He's got a great opportunity in edmonton to grow into a core of players his age. All those kids are going to be rockstars in that city over the next decade and I'm sure he's going to have alot of fun playing with them. Signing with us he wouldnt have the supporting cast entering their prime all at once so I can understand his decision. It's easy to say you would sign with your favorite team as fans but I've never played sports at the levels he has do I cannot judge him for the decision he makes. He's just a guy coming from the same roots as us and I wish him all the best. I will however cheer against him with Canuck pride once the puck drops just as I do against iginla and Smyth.
