Yah, and they’re not nearly long enough either.

When fans keep indulging themselves about Vcr Prospects we'll need to keep this in mind ….. there are 8 teams according to this with a better list
Fair enough but my experience is that what prognosticators prognosticate is seldom gospel. This part of the business is fraught with wild swings of opinion so eighth might really turn out to be nineteenth or it could mean third.

This is mascot of the Avto club - the Moose Avtik
Always good to learn something about how things are done in other places. I have to say the Moose uniform is quite fetching particularly the mostly red version highlighted by SID.

Not what I would expect from a KHL club. Looks very North American if I might use the simplest and most stereotypical cultural observation I can. Didn't realize the Russians had such a sense of whimsy!

And also bring whoever designed those stylish uniforms ....

Delorme’s clenched fist, Mulvey’s bloody and defeated face. What a culmination of emotions for the team and for us as fans (a youthful one in my case).
For me, as a singular moment of pride, it has yet to be surpassed.

Greatest “post goal” “moment/circumstance/reaction/photo-op”.
The Tiger Williams stick ride at Maple Leaf Gardens would be eligible for this category. Not necessarily great goals but great reactions/celebrations (although Orr’s goal did win a Stanley Cup). Teemu Selanne’s glove toss trap shot also qualifies among many others.

(If Puljujarvi hits 50pts the pick becomes a 1st; EDM has three years to cash in the pick.)
Cue the villagers and the burning stakes!

Reinhardt is in a completely different class than any defence man who ever played for this team strictly from an offensive perspective. Check out the personnel of the teams he played on and look what he accomplished. Also was a force in that 89 playoff series against his old team Calgary.

Assuming LE and Sutter are out is a dream. Buyout proof contracts. Impossible to love them without giving up another pick.
What a moving testiment to the heartbreak of love!

I’d like the naïveté of posters who think that Green’s public comments about LE put to bed any problems regarding their relationship. What happens behind closed doors is usually a whole other story.
A fair observation, but that naïveté doesn’t stretch any further than your implied cynicism that TG’s message “behind closed doors” will be demonstrably different than the one he has publicly voiced here.

Yeah, but Higgins later admits "I lied."
So maybe he's now working in our player development.
If he's working anywhere it's down in San Jose with Doug Wilson. Heck, he probably is Doug Wilson.

So, is Higgins Robin Masters?
I thought Higgins fessed up on the last show of the series but could be wrong. Magnum always suspected it though.

"at the time" - just because a player makes it to the NHL first, and does well, does not mean our player will not make it to the NHL and do as well or better for his position.
Therein lies the fallacy of their logic, its not a sprint its a marathon. If OJ is Roman Josi 2.0 will people be upset at the end of his career? Josi took 5 years post his draft (as an example) to solidify himself in the NHL.
Indeed, though this “marathon of marination” does not allow for immediate gratification, the kind that I have to admit feeds a certain narrative of progress which, even now with this team, is quite intoxicating. I think we all want our drafted players to evolve with speed and assurance but as always patience is a virtue. In the meantime we’ll be aggressively, passionately and consistently reminded of the relative failures of a bunch of twenty and twenty ones year olds who are endeavouring to live out lifelong dreams and a GM who I suspect, in this market, will never be off the hot seat.

What I fail to understand, is how some 'fans' now that the draft is 3 years past, seem to want OJ to fail so that they can feel 'right'. As a fan, shouldn't you want the player to succeed and take a wait and see attitude given he's had some unfortunate injuries? I will never understand a fan who needs their ego stroked more than to see a potential stud dman become what he was drafted for. Especially when injuries are the reason he hasn't seen NHL ice yet.
Because it’s not so much OJ’s failure to live up to the promise of a number 5 pick but rather an indictment of a GM who missed out on selecting what, to them, was at the time, and presently, the clearly superior player. At least that’s what I sense reading between the lines of these types of posts.

Actually some players do give up. They don’t have the compete left and it’s why many retire. It doesn’t take confidence to compete friend, it takes hunger. You can always outskate your opponent and work harder. That has zero to do with confidence. The issue most have here is despite his lack of point production he doesn’t seem to compete and that’s fully within his control.
This take sounds so ridiculously reasonable that it should satisfy almost everybody on this forum who have had a go at the topic at hand. Please, please, please can this finally be the last word? ( I know, already too late for that but a guy can dream).

Shocking that Loui is not on there...yet a good sign for JB to try to trade this lump.
The list includes only those contracts with at least four years of term left on them so it appears this is nothing more than a reminder that Louie isn’t the only lump of worthless excrement out there. Lots of opportunity to spit out more vitriol if you’re willing to widen your scope a little!

And no team here is going to want Loui. He’s done in the NHL. He’s had three years of piss poor play! He is soft as a marshmallow to play against. He can’t skate anymore. He is weak now too. The guy got old. Put him in Utica, and forget him. He will retire though before Utica. He’s learning this summer that no team wants him.
Ahhhhhh....the old reverse psychology trick! Very clever you rascal! Louie's going to read this, he's going to get mad, get inspired and hit the ground running at training camp. A new Louie who demands top 6 ice time! A new lease on his NHL life! And he will have you to thank!

This thought has struck me as well. Usually veterans and star players somewhat glide through the pre-season games and that’s fine, but in LE:s case this season just let him earn it and give him time in the top 9 with a playmaker on his line. If he doesn’t grab the opportunity, well off you go.
Exactly. This might be completely outside of the box thinking and certainly flammable in this forum but why not prop up LE as a potential asset ? I suppose it's easier, and will serve to placate the bloodthirsty rancor surrounding this player, to send him straight to the purgatory of Utica as a punishment for not living up to his contract but if there is any chance to maneuver a trade I'm quessing his value couldn't be any lower. The effort should be in highlighting his positive attributes in order for some other club to take a leap of faith and, colaterally, make the Canucks look good, as well, as an organization that supports all its players (even though admittedly Louie hasn't come close to earning his pay grade or that kind of loyalty).

Marner has lead the Leaf's in scoring 2 years running. So he is right.
The thing is, who is going to pay Marner more than Matthews? What leverage does he have other than holding out?
The crap's going to hit the fan for Dubas soon enough
I think crap and fan have already met and the resultant messy dispersal has splatted on Dubas’ stylish glasses and neatly coifed hair.

[Rumor] Boeser Camp Eyeing 4 Year Deal Worth $28M

Not to ramp up your anxiety but "pre" season for this team actually started April 7. In fact, there are only two seasons as far as I'm concerned, though I'm willing to allow for something new like "post" season this year.
