Report: After yesterday's signings the Washington Capitals have reached our 50 contract limit.
We feel good about our organizational depth right now. We haven't been able to add to our prospect pool through the draft but I am feeling happier today with our combo of vets and youngsters developing at the AHL level.

The Washington Capitals would like to acknowledge and congratulate Keith Yandle on breaking the iron man record.
Yandle spent his entire career up until this season as a member of the Caps so I have followed all the ups and downs he has faced on route to this accomplishment. It hasn't been an easy road and this record is a testament to the heart and soul type of guy Keith is.
No one plays that many games in a row without having immense passion and perseverance and we are thrilled for him.

Rumour:
An NTC nixed an agreed upon deal to bring Sergei Bobrovsky into Washington in a deal that would have sent Philip Grubauer the other way.
Now the Columbus Blue Jackets are rumored to be acquiring the veteran goaltender instead as his preferred destination.
This sequence of events has ownership questioning whether or not da.moose is the right manager to take the Caps over the hump.
Some sources are already speculating on potential replacements if the job were to become open.

Comparatively our team currently doesn't have the same depth or fire power as it has in the past.
We are actively looking to improve our group which has a lot of holes as is right now but we are not surprised with the position we are in.
Losing players like Kadri, Kreider, Olofsson, Dumba, Yandle and Grzelcyk from our last years group has definitely been an adjustment but we are doing our best to weather the storm so to speak so we can keep our competitive window open instead of fizzling out into mediocrity.
Our goal remains to keep the core we currently have in place and showing patience and loyalty to the players we have committed to and supplementing them with the right pieces to get back on track.
