nevermind I see he has been cleared to play finally
Oh well enough about the Pats, they are the only topic that ever seems to be dicussed at any length on here, partly my fault too lol. Does anybody else on here find Pete Carrol to be the most annoying coach in the league? I can't exactly say why but I really dislike him. Though I am also getting a bit tired of everyone, panel members as well, jumping on the Seahawks bandwagon and how they can do no wrong
I have never found Pete arrogant, just positive. I think you are talking about Jim Harbaugh.

Hmm...yes, victim blaming.
Oh wait...the real victim is the biker who illegally dismounted in front of a SUV, driven by a person who felt threatened for his life.
I give up. Basic comprehension should be a requirement on this board.
-
I don't disagree about calling the police. Calling for help is necessary, but he can't just call and then wait around for help to arrive either.
Really, 50+ outlaws who otherwise seem to have no regard for the law are going just peacefully stand down when they see a few police? Yeah, don't think so.
Edit: I realize we've both been thinking hypothetically and I have been making some straw man arguments. For that, I apologize.
No worries

Pray, tell what would 2-3 squad cars would be able to do to stop madness such as this?. http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/the-footage-that-the-nyc-bikers-didnt-want-you-to-see-1435594427/1436603736/@orlove
Why must you automatically assume that the police would have been of immediate help? Calling 911 isn't a "get out of this crap situation free card." If you have to call 911, you're in over your head. That situation will not resolve itself in the time it takes for help to arrive, you must help yourself as best you can until help does arrive. In this situation, whatever assistance the police could have provided would like have been far too little, far too late.
The police respond to bad situations, rarely do they prevent crapty situations like the one we are talking about from happening.
One thing I do agree about: locking the doors. How in the hell were the doors not locked already/ why were they not locked when the bikers forced the SUV driver to stop?
What are you on about? How the hell is he supposed to get help if he doesn't call for it? What, would you just keep driving until they ran out of gas. I just want to know if he called for help or not, that's it.
And those cowards would have backed down in a second if they saw police.
-
The whole event took place over the course of 6 minutes. The average response time for a police unit is on the plus side of 10 minutes. Waiting around would not have ended well.
It didn't end well. Just spitballing about how the driver maybe could have prevented that.

the issue with that is that in the videos provided there's 50+ people on bikes and atvs. Not without dating that it would take time to show up, but then what? Get mobbed by 50+ people without valid insurance or licenses when a previous video shows a cop basically in the middle of the road powerless as they drove by en masse.
Power too the suv
Both of you missed the part where I said the guy was in the right to keep driving. You also must have missed the part where they caught him, dragged him out of his vehicle, and kicked the crap out of him. Perhaps if he had called 911 dispatch could have directed him to a nearby patrol and vice versa saving him a beating in front of his wife and kid. I didn't read anything that said they attempted to call police during the incident so I thought I'd ask.
Also why the hell wasn't his door locked? When he got stopped the second time the biker just ran up and opened it. You'd think the first thing he'd do is lock the doors, hell it's automatic in most new vehicles.
-
His wife did call police. Had the driver on the SUV waited for the police to save his arse, he would likely be dead or in a coma, and god knows what may have happened to his wife and child.
Bottom line: if you need to call the police, you're already fracked so fight like hell to preserve life and limb, don't be a shrinking violet.
Source?
I am refering to the entire incident. If she had called police there is a chance they could have intercepted the convoy in time and saved him a beating. By no means am I saying he should have stopped so you didn't need to go all Chuck Norris and stuff.

There's still one part of this story I don't get. This guy can afford a range rover but not a cell phone? Did he or his wife call the police at any time during the incident or maybe take some of their own video? I wonder if any more info on this will surface?

Was listening to a sirius xm channel this morning and they were talking football. The host brought up the topic that Brady & Wilson have looked more impressive through a quarter of the season than Manning because Manning is basically playing in a pro bowl offense so his performane is expected and anything less would be a dissapointment, whereas the other 2 weren't expected to have the success they're having so it is more impressive that they are 4-0 as opposed to a team who is expected to go 16-0 be 4-0.
Another thing that has been overlooked is the fact that Denver has 3 home victories and 1 road win all over struggling teams. If they had tougher opponents or played on the road (or both) the scoring may not have been so lop sided. That being said they have one of the easiest schedules and may not even be tested until the KC and Pats mathchups. Peyton gonna rack up some yards me thinks.

Don't bring a motorcycle to an SUV fight.

I was just watching the Monday nighter with the Saints up 35-10 over the Dolphins. With a dolphin player injured, and an injury time out, the crowd begins to sing nah nah nah nah....Brees emphatically turns to the crowd and waves his arms to quiet them. Now that's a class act.

Seahawks remind me a lot of the Falcons w/Vick or the Eagles w/Cunningham -- the style is extremely fast paced and somewhat reckless -- the Texans played their game in the first half then tried to be like the Seahawks and play their type of game, and blatantly lost at it. One thing the first half of the game showed was that studying film and the way they play, all it takes is a little execution to screw the hawks over. The Broncos are a bit of a different story.. usually one dimensional offenses get squashed but Manning is so talented he can make a terrible RB be a threat just because defenses will almost always play the pass.
You're out to lunch.

At first I saw reports of the 9ers suspending him, but yes it is voluntary by him.
Huge loss for the 49ers. Right move regardless. Smith wants to get better and he's doing the responsible thing.
It speaks volumes about the character of 9ers management as well. Last year they suspended a player for a similar infraction (less even) and yet they let Aldon play today despite all of his off field troubles. They apparently have a different set of expectations for star players. Next time someone tells me about what a class organization San Fran is I'm bringing this up.
-
The 49ers are enforcing the suspension on him so he can get help and go to rehab.
Can't seem to find anything on this, what's your source? Nfl.com has it as entirely voluntary on Aldons part.
-
Seahawks 3-0, Russell Wilson 10-0 at home.
To add to that, 49ers 1-2, Aldon Smith suspended indefinitely, and a short week. 1-3 could be looming.
Seahawks may win the division by mid season.
Smith took an indefinite leave but yeah, huge blow to the 9ers.

Brees is going to light the Cardinals apart IMO. Especially after a very meh week against the Bucs.
I don't follow. So you think the Saints are going to win?
-
6 different tickets on Sports Action. How do they look. Hope 1 hits (If 1 hits Im half way there in terms of trying to be even. If 2 hit then I win a minimum $50- $60 for the week)
Its also 3 outcome meaning all the teams gotta win by more than 3
The joker ticket
DET over WSH
GB over Cinccy

I'm not sure how ticket 3 is your safe one. Arizona over New Orleans is the pick I am really questioning.

Aldon Smith got arrested for another DUI today. Apparently he had some weed on him too. Comsidering the stabbing incident at his party and all the other stuff he's done lately me thinks he'll be looking at a little time off for this one. It's like Von Miller 2.0. What the hell are these guys thinking anyway?
Edit: oops should have said shooting incident, who uses knives now anyway?

On a lot of NFL.com articles regarding the Seahawks, Seahawks fans flood the comment section about not getting any respect and post things like "Oh the Seahawks could win the Super Bowl and CBS still wouldn't know who we are."
I'm on nfl.com every day and I see the same thing from 9ers, pats, broncos, packers, bears, giants, cowboys etc...fans every day as well so what's your point? I think the bottom line is that site needs some better mods. There is way too much pointless mud slinging going on and people say some really nasty stuff on there with no consequences. Did you see the stuff between packers and niners fans before and after week 1? Open your eyes man, your bias is clouding your judgement.
-
The NFL is a week to week league. The Seahawks could only put up 12 points against the Panthers, against whom the Bills put up 24 points. The 49ers offense exploded in week 1, but was shut down in week 2. That's why I hate arguing about what's going to happen because you don't know. All you can look forward to is the matches every week, and after about week 12, start looking forward to the games that have playoff implications.
Well why did you bring it up then? You also brought up the Falcons in week 10.
-
Have you forgotten the super bowl isn't played in Seattle? Did you forget the 9ers beat Seattle last year in San Fran? As they probably will do this year as well.
But keep thinking you guys have the Super Bowl locked up. Afterall, your team IS the team that considered a win over the Patriots and 49ers last year as equal to winning the super bowl. Though that's expected for a team that has made it to the Super Bowl once in their history, didn't win it, and still complain, what, 8 years later? that they should have won it. Get over it. Let me know when you guys make it a conference championship.
This is why people hate pats fans. Quit living in the past.

Denver also has a great secondary. What my point was, is that Seattle's offense doesn't have enough serious threats to over power Denver's secondary should they meet in the Super Bowl, whereas Denver has more receiving threats than Seattle does shut down corners. If Sherman and Browner take away Decker and Thomas, there is still Welker and Thomas in the slots, there's also Moreno and Ball catching out of the backfield.
Also, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still got to wait for week 10 when a fully healthy Falcons team takes on a fully healthy Seahawks team. Should they make it far enough, they would also eventually have to play the Packers in the playoffs at some point. Though I hope the Seahawks faithful keep pumping their tires about the Super Bowl, the less of an "under dog" team they are by playoff time, the higher of a chance there is that they under perform in the playoffs.
Good....good...let the hate cloud your judgement. That's the way we like it. As for corners, you do realize Browner hasn't played yet right? You forgot about Thurmond and Maxwell, the Seahawks have more than enough depth to match any receiving core. Did you see what Seattle did to the 9ers pass protection? If that was Manning back there he wouldn't have made it out of the game in one piece.
Do you mean the same packers whose secondary got exposed by the niners last week? The same niners who scored 3 points on Sunday? Keep hatin bro.

Right, Golden Tate, a guy who has put up a 227 yard season, 380 yard season, a 680 yard season and so far 70 yards through 2 games with 10 touchdowns across those 3 seasons and 2 games, total threat man. He'll definitely be the difference maker.
Also, who knows how Harvin will be after rehab. He might be rusty when he gets back and might need a full off season to train to get back to form. Hence why I said I don't think the Seahawks are good enough this year.
You put too much stock into offenses. Offenses don't win championships alone and Seattle has the best secondary in the league bar none not to mention the best defence overall. They just dismantled the consensus pick for the best team in the league with only 140 yards passing. The proof is in the pudding.
Oh yeah and Golden Tate has a knack for big catches in coverage so yeah, he is a difference maker. It's not the quantity, it's the quality.
-
Just my opinion and I know I'll be torn apart by Seattle fans, but I just don't think they're good enough to win it this year considering they can't play the Super Bowl at home in Seattle.
Their offense doesn't scare anyone. Lynch is easily a top 3 RB in the NFL, love the guy, one of my favorite players to watch. But the rest of their offense doesn't keep defensive co-ordinators up. Wilson isn't going to be running the ball more than 5x a game on read option plays anymore. We're seeing it all across the NFL. In their first years, Newton, RG3, Wilson, Kaepernick could run all they want, but once their team's realized how valuable they were, they all started making their QB's hold on to the ball to decrease risk of injury.
In a neutral setting, Bailey and Cromartie would take out Baldwin and Rice, their tight end could be covered by any old Joe, and with a healthy front 7 lead by Miller they could prohibit Lynch from putting up 100 yards + a TD.
And if Brady could put up 400 yards and 2TD's in Seattle with Welker, Hernandez and a 50% Gronkowski, Manning should be able to better those numbers outside of Seattle with Welker, Thomas, Decker and J. Thomas
Baldwin and Rice? What about Tate and Harvin? There is so much fail in this post I don't really know where to begin. Any old Joe could cover Zack Miller? Someone should have told the falcons last year when he put up 142 yards in the playoffs. Seattle also has Clemons and Irvin out with injury so there's that. Don't let your hate cloud your judgement. The Bronco's are a great team but you have overlooked far too many factors and variables to make any sense of your post. I don't think you know enough about the Seahawks to make an informed choice.
