  1. Plus I can't stand all the Seahawk fans in my ear and on the radio. Seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon because they are Vancouver's supposed "home team".

I'm sure the way you became a fan of whatever team you cheer for was much more honorable. Get off your high horse.

  2. Lol! Forgot to mention.

Driving to school this morning, listening to the team 1040, Jake and Pratt had Mitch Berger on and Berger picked SF to win in Seattle next week because Wilson has forgotten he's allowed to throw for over 120 yards in games and the 49ers offense is much, much more explosive.

Driving home from school this afternoon, Farhan was on the team 1040 with Taylor and B Mac. He also picked the 49ers to win in Seattle next week for the same reasons: Seattle's defense is 5 percent better than 49ers, but 49ers offense is 25 percent better than Seahawks.

All four (Pratt, Jake, Bmac, Taylor) were so shocked and angry, it was hilarious. All last week they were already planning the parade route and this week they were stunned that two of their regulars picked against their beloved Seahawks.

Mitch Berger has been picking against the Seahawks all year. He was dead wrong then too.

  3. Hmm, the reporter must've phrased the question wrong then, because he specifically said "the franchise's first home playoff win."

32 years for one playoff home win isn't much better anyways.

Considering the Seahawks made it to the Superbowl in 05 with home field throughout it's even more amazing that they were able to get there without winning a game. Also their first season was 76 so your math is off too.

  4. I am a Seahawks fan here but does anyone have the feeling they are going down on Saturday?

    I do

Have some faith man. Harvin and Luke Wilson had full practice yesterday. Kam Chancellor DNP though. They're going to be tough to beat if they the offence going again. I think we'll see a lot more of the read option from Russell Wilson as well. I have a feeling the coaching staff had a bit of a leash on him over the last few games with a playoff berth locked up. At least I hope so.

  5. Every year the Cowboys fans rave about how they are the superbowl favorites and every year they miss the playoffs or lose in the first round.

I believe you are talking about Jerry Jones not Cowboys fans. Let's not kick em too hard while they are down.

  6. Was just looking at the standings and have a question about the Pats, that I think lots of the people on here would know.

I see that NE has 10 wins and Miami has 8. Just a question, but if the Pats lose out from here on due to not being able to overcome their injuries and Miami wins out, both finish at 10-6. Who has the tie breaker in this scenario?

In this scenario Miami would have the tie breaker as they would have more wins against divisional opponents.

  7. (Not directly related to the Whitecaps until maybe next year.)

The MLS Final between Kansas and RSL was pretty entertaining - from what I saw of it, at least. I caught the last half and overtime.

The shoot-out was crazy. Kansas looked like they had it ITB after RSL's first two misses. Then I thought RSL was going to win. And then...

But I was hoping the shoot-out would go one more round. Would've been cool to see the goalies taking shots.

I was going to post this as well. I had no idea the final was today. I thought it would have been over a long time ago.

  8. Ummm, I think you're taking an annonymous online football thread on a hockey forum a bit too seriously. Can't remember anyone trashing the guy who has the most wins among active head coaches.

There's no misguided reasons for not liking Pete Carroll. They're all facts. Turn on the team 1040 or ESPN radio on Sundays, you'll hear the same things. He chews out a refs ear more than once a game, and runs up and down the field to do so, and comes off as real arrogant such as telling the ESPN reporter during the game to tell Gruden up stairs that he's going to like the play he just called. But Seahawks fans see it differently. They don't see him as arrogant, they see him as cocky and confident.

Same way how Seahawks fans see Harbaugh in San Fran. Seahawks fans think Harbaugh is the biggest cry/whine baby in the NFL, yet 49ers fans see him as a passionate players coach. Same way Pats fans see Rex and vice versa, the same way Jets fans see BB. Again, I don't remember anyone in here trashing Belichick, but if they did, I wouldn't need to defend him, his numbers speak for themselves. But I can see why you'd need to defend Carroll. Unless you're a USC fan.

I go on tirades when people trash the Pats? I think you're confusing me with one of the other Pats fans in this thread. I more often than not laugh it off because it's the same regurgitated cr*p I hear all the time. Omg Brady wears uggs, spygate, boston bruins suck, brady yelled at a receiver, talib smokes pot, Manning's better, 18-1..etc. Don't really care for it.

The only "tirade" I can recall is "going at it" with canuckbeliever after the Colts beat the Broncos and I said I was happy Manning won't go 16-0 and he took exception to that. Otherwise it's smooth sailing and friendly jabs here or there. I think you out of all people really need that bar night. Have a Bruschi to take the edge off ;)

Trust me kid, I ain't losing any sleep over this crap but you keep citing one game to define Pete's character. I watch every game and I don't recall Pete running after refs on the regular so you're misguided on that one.

As for Harbaugh, he has had far too many classless moments to earn any respect. The back slapping incident, honking his horn and flashing his lights at the Seahawks team bus after the loss at candlestick last year, and that perpetual scowl he has on his face. Now there's a coach not to like. Carroll is more like an excited kid, no malice is intended.

If you want to hate on a coach hate on Tomlin for hanging a leg on a player on the sidelines. Or does that hit too close to home given Belichick's tripping record? Don't get me wrong, I like Belichick, I think he is the best coach in the league (just not this year) but then again I'm not really looking for anything to hate. Just sayin though.

  9. If you lived through the Brian Bosworth era and still cheer for the Seahawks, you've shown more than enough patience.

What a waste of a draft pick.

I was a kid when they drafted him. To me he was a bigger than life character, the likes of which the seahawks had never seen and I wanted him to do well. Hell of an actor though.

  10.

Because I singled out pimpcurtly, in my opinion, as the only genuine fan of both the Seahawks and the sport of football I've come across in this thread, you think that's me calling you out?

Grade A comedian here. Were you not hugged as a child?

The regulars from this thread should get together for a game at a central location bar sometime. Everyone wear the jersey of the team they support and we can try to guess who's who :frantic:

You said he was the only real Seahawks/football fan in this thread. Considering we were just in discussion I assumed I was part of the non football/seahawks fan crowd. When a Patriots fan on the west coast calls me a bandwagoner I take offense so as the old saying goes, don't start none, won't be none. And if you want to resort to personal attacks I can certainly oblige but I don't think anyone wants to see this thread devolve to that point. Not to mention the affect it could have on our accounts.

If you want to attack a coach I have the utmost respect for I will defend him. If you don't like it when people trash your coach and players perhaps you should refrain from doing the same to others. You say you can't stand it when people don't understand why opposing teams fans don't like Pete yet you go on absolute tirades when people talk negatively about the Patriots. Do you not see the hypocrissy in that?

I understand that people don't like PC and I don't really care. It comes with the territory. But when you come up with misguided reasons for that hatred I will do my best to set you straight. Pete is an upbeat positive coach who has his team playing unbelievable football but the haters will continue to focus on the negative. Speaking of stuff you never see coaches do. This is the same coach that came out during a storm delay to high five and talk to fans in the endzone. What a jerk huh?

  11. Yaaaaawwwwwnnnn..... same recycled garbage. Talk football, no need to be a jaggoff.

I tell's yah. That SB Sunday will be rockin' in Seattle if the Hawks make it! That city is NUTS about their team!

He called me out. Why you being a douchebag?

  12. Sorry Romo, I meant in regards to the Seahawks!

I thought you were talking about all those "real" west coast Patriot fans. But you grew up in the shadows of Foxborough didn't you? Sure thing buddy.

  13. The naysayers love to count the seahawks out each and every week and look ahead to the next opponent that is going to beat them after they win. I couldn't believe how many pundits were picking the saints at the beginning of the game. Perhaps now, after the beat down the hawks just put on the saints, they will get the respect they deserve but probably not. The haters will always find something to harp on. Like that weak secondary?

  14. Interesting that the people who jump on Brady and call him a cry baby/whiner when he complains to the refs about a terrible call/non call have nothing to say about Pete Carroll. Have counted 4 times so far this game where he's run onto the field flailing and yelling at a ref.

Can't wait to hear all the excuses.

For someone who plays the martyr so well when someone bashes football jesus you sure like to sling mud against teams you don't like. But since you asked, the difference is whiny baby Brady is playing the game. You don't see many players berade the ref ref like that,... ever. That being said I thought you were going to bring up the Sherman incident tonight. As for coaches, name one that doesn't yell at the ref when they get a bad call?

  15. It should be an interesting match up, I bet we will see Brees picking on whoever is playing that second corner spot. Should be interesting to see how they deal with Graham as well, do you put Sherman on him all day, like the Pats threw that I don't really like(forget his name) on him all game to shut him down? that would leave Colston on whoever the other cb is with probably some safety help.

Then the biggest question in my mind is how Harvin plays or is used. As without him, I've argued Seattle is very 1-dimensional. Carrol has already come out and said they won't be changing the playbook to suit Harvin, which sounds somewhat ridiculous to me. As in my opinion he's probably top-3 or top-5 playmakers in the NFL, why would you not draw up some 'Percy Harvin' Plays. Unless he's going to be used more to keep defenses honest and free up space for others. Of course the possibility is Carrol just liar, which is probably more probable.

We will see what happens, Saints defense is a lot better than many people think. I sure wouldn't be surprised if the Saints pull out the win, though its just certainly nice seeing Seattle finally having to play a good team

Seattle went 9-1 without Harvin and only he had 2 plays in their last game ( helluva catch btw). He sat out practice yesterday and is still rehabbing his hip. Whether Pete is telling the truth or not about how they plan to use him, it's hardly reason to call him a liar. Even in the event he is holding back some information, in the context of the game it's called gamesmanship and I wouldn't expect anything less from any coach in this league. Chill out.

  16. Wow there is some blind homerism going on in this thread lol. I wouldn't be so quick to crown the Seahawks SuperBowl Champs, I wouldn't even be so certain they make it to New York. There has been several teams in the past ranked 1st in offense and 1st defense to crash out before the Super Bowl, and Seattle isn't 1st in either.

Seattle is certainly the favorite but with exception of the NFC East winner, I could definitely see the other 4 playoff teams being able to roll into Seattle and coming out with the win. I would still like to see some sort of passing game out of Seattle before I prematurely crown them.

Blind homerism? From the 3 Seahawks fans posts over the last 25 pages. Overreact much?

  17. The Lions coming back on the Cowboys totally made up for the Eagles brutal play the last 2 weeks.

Megatron is in a league of his own like Peterson.

Top 10 receivers in the league right now

    1. Calvin Johnson

    2. AJ Green

    3. Julio Jones

    4. Dez Bryant

    5. Brandon Marshall

    6. Larry Fitzgerald

    7. Demaryius Thomas

    8. Jordy Nelson

    9. Michael Crabtree

    10. Andre Johnson

Odd list, has Crabtree even played this year?

  18. 42 - 17 For the Seahawks over the Rams tommorow. Wilson with 3 TD's and Lyncher with 2 TD's GO PATS :towel:

    I predict it's still 0-0 tomorrow.

Although the Seahawks are pretty good.
