  1. Green and co. suck. The coaching staff is going to be the downfall of this team. If you watch five minutes of any other competent team, you see how much of a priority puck possession and puck support with a player flanking the puck carrier when gaining the offensive zone is. Our goals don't come from controlled entries where the players are in unison, they come from haphazard, isolated plays. Like why is Brandon effin Sutter on PP's top unit when you have Virtanen or Gaudette to choose from? How come there is no movement on the PP? Why do we let other teams gain our blue line so easily? Why are we always out shot? Why don't our players respond when our star player gets hurt? Rookie coach, rookie GM, a vacant President of Hockey ops position. It seems like everyone's learning on the job and we as fans have suffered for nearly a decade because of it.
  2. Green is such an idiot. He complains to the media after the fact but has the whole game to get some sort of retribution. After the second goal, the game was basically over and the focus should've shifted to dumping it in Grzelcyk's corner every time and hurting him. Virtanen tried but he can't do it all. What's the point of our fourth line? Roussel? Captain Horvat, hello??? God this this team is so sad to watch sometimes.
  3. Boeser is a liability. Get him off the first line. The play constantly dies on his stick. Idk what he brings to the team anymore.
  4. -Watched EP40 closely in this one. Was one of his better games as of late. However, what I noticed is that at the conclusion of a shift, in the opponent's zone, he ends up being the net-front presence a lot. Ideally, he should be the primary distributor or the shooter. I know Miller has been a revelation, but he needs to get better at using EP when in the offensive zone. Miller often will get tunnel-vision and take a low percentage shot, or just over-handle the puck. Chemistry needs improvement if we want them to be the one of the best lines in hockey. -Schaller was awful despite the goal. Gave the puck away every shift it seemed like. -Boeser needs to stop reversing the puck when along the walls. It's a bad habit he always does and it cost the team a goal.
  5. Does anybody else think EP’s hasn’t had as many jaw-dropping, highlight reel moments compared to last year? He would regularly make like 3-5 Datsyuk-esque plays per game, finding ways to create space for himself. Maybe it’s a combination of things like him being a known commodity now and/or him pacing himself? Miller seems to have the duty of puck carrier on the line so that could be a factor as well. I just hope it wasn’t coached out of him, because he has such a deadly arsenal of skills, and it would be a shame to put that aside for the boring, grinding, NA style of hockey (which I believe is necessary for the playoffs but not the regular season per say).
  6. Wow. My brain still hasn't processed this as being real. He and Nazzy. They were both my childhood heroes. Thank you for reminding us to never settle and bringing myself and millions of others out of their seats questioning how a human being could make those impossible shots fading away, over the backboard, hand in face, right leg kicked out. Rest in peace Kobe, Gianna, John, Keri, Alyssa, Christina, Sarah, Payton, and Ara.
  7. Clean. House. Garbage management. Garbage coaches. Garbage players save for like 3. Tank this year and let's try this again next year?! Nah, we'll probably suck in that one too. And the one after that, and the next one, and the nex.....
  8. True. But Boeser should be held at a different and higher standard than most of our players. He is part of that core group of 4. We want him to be great and not take nights off like he does a lot of the time. EP, Hughes, Horvat all work hard and are give an honest effort every shift. Boeser appears to be happy doing the bare minimum and collecting a few apples and the odd goal here and there.
  9. I understand. It's hard to recognize the flaws of your favourite players sometimes. Love the relevant pic too.
  10. I agree. You see flashes of him working hard and skating, but it's never consistent, which leads me to believe he CAN but is just a lazy player/doesn't want to commit to it. Bridging him was definitely the right move. If this is the player he is, we should look to move him while he still has perceived value.
  11. Take the rose-coloured glasses off. He's a lazy player who thinks getting his points is all he needs to do. Love the gif btw.
  12. Green suck and that 7-game winning streak hadn’t convinced me and others otherwise, but it’s good to see him hold Boeser accountable by demoting him. There’s an elephant in the room in terms of Boeser’s effort level and overall play. He doesn’t have great IQ, makes poor decisions when pressured (watch him on the PP), doesn’t have that great shot he once had, etc. This would all be forgiven/forgotten to an extent if he showed he was really trying hard/skating, but he doesn’t do that. He floats worse than Kyle Wellwood. He’s always upright, stick on his knees, waiting for EP or Miller to do all the heavy work. Because he’s in that core group of 4 (EP, Hughes, Horvat), everyone gives him a free pass. Hopefully Green stays sticks with these lineups when it's game time so the message can get across.
  13. Benning does not get 3 coaches. He should be fired, along with Green. Benning's mediocre drafting doesn't offset his crappy pro-scouting, poor management of the farm team, player contracts (imagine Myers two years from now), and general intelligent foresight to plan ahead.
  14. This is good. Now, instead of making it trend on twitter, the fans need to chant it in rogers arena like they did for Gillis.
  15. My Lord. 2 more years after this at 3m for what exactly? Bench-warming? Keeping the bench door safely shut? Cuz it can't be for veteran leadership/mentorship reasons judging by our record.
  16. You don't think it would be for the overpaid, garbage bottom six we have? Or our current cap situation being maxed out with our two best players still on their rookie deals? Or the fact that the team has to rely on a rookie, 20 yr old dman to play 25+ minutes a night because he has done jack to improve that area since he became GM? Holding onto Green is like #50 on the list of Benning's blunders.
  17. Jim Benning, thank you giving us arguably the worst era of Canucks hockey. Fire this idiot before the moron coach please.
  18. Welp. It's not even Christmas and I'm starting to scoreboard watch to see if any of the teams below us in the standings win. This another failure of a season will be worth it if both Benning and Green are gonzo at the end of the season.
  19. Wow this team is bad. We're getting close to the dark days of the WD era.
  20. Vegas plays beautiful, entertaining hockey. Too bad we suck AND don't play entertaining hockey.
  21. This game and the next two are huge. Lose those and we're most likely saying the all too familiar Vancouver Canucks proverb that seems to be a recurring theme with Benning in charge: "There's always next year..."
  22. Canucks should win this. The Leafs defence is awful so Green should have no problem getting his favourable matchups. But then again this is Travis Green we're talking about. If we give the Leafs free entries into our zone/odd man rushes like we have been surrendering to a lot of teams this season, it'll be curtains early.
  23. Boeser with 2 secondary assists, but was invisible the whole game. It's going to be impossible to convince people that he's playing poorly when they'll just say "But look at his PointzZZzzZz!!".
  24. This is a coaching issue. It's been happening too often not to be.
