  1. What is Boeser's role on the first line? He's not the trigger man, play-maker, nor grinder. He doesn't win board battles, hustle, forecheck. He's just kinda there. Floating and giving low effort every shift.
  2. Leivo has a better shot than Boeser at this point. Get Boeser off the first line. He's killing every play.
  3. Okay? You have a pic of the Bruins in your sig btw, if you didn't notice.
  4. Honestly wouldn't be against benching Boeser for a game or two. It might make him realize how much effort his linemates put in every shift in comparison to his.
  5. I understand it might be trying times for Boeser. But at the same time he has to do his job and play hockey. He half-asses so many plays. His poor effort level is very noticeable, especially when you see EP and Miller busting their ass every shift.
  6. While I agree Green sucks, the coach isn't at fault if a player is lazy, refuses to skate, and floats. He's careless with the puck and loses puck battles along the boards constantly. He had a shot at one point, but we haven't seen that for almost two seasons now. It takes him like 5 minutes to get the puck off his stick when he shoots now.
  7. Trade Boeser in a hockey deal, one-for-one. Kyler Connor, Travis Konecny, Pierre Luc-Dubois, Matthew Tkachuk (oh what could've been). In comparison, these players are substantially better in all areas of the game save for Boeser's shot, which hasn't been that effective for a while now if we're being honest. I like Boeser but we have to realize rookie season Boeser is likely never coming back and changes need to be made.
  8. Accountability should start from the top. Aquilini to Benning to Green. Can't really get rid of Aquilini, so get rid of the other two clowns.
  9. Aside from a couple games, JV has been one of our better forwards at even strength lately. I don't blame him for playing disinterested right now. He looks bored and disheartened. I would too, seeing useless players like Pearson/Leivo constantly playing in the top six. Green should stop trying to do his best Scotty Bowman impression and just let the guy play without the fear of getting benched and/or demoted. Give JV a solid 40 games in the top six and evaluate from there. This tough-love type of coaching isn't working and is going to probably ruin the guy and end with him being traded. We need players like JV. Homegrown, fast, physical. You don't think as a kid he had dreams of scoring the overtime goal of a game 7 playoff series? Just let him play.
  10. Elephant in the room: EP40 hasn’t been effective at even strength; Boeser even less so. EP40’s issue is all physical. He gets outmuscled a lot and tends to fall down when under a heavy check. The effort is still there, it’s just a matter of putting on weight over time. Boeser makes Kyle Wellwood look like a HoFer when it comes of urgency/effort, on the other hand. Dude just floats the entire game. The sad part is you sometimes get a glimpse of his rookie season here and there, but it seems like he’s just content on being a decent 25-30 goal winger. Shoulda taken Konecny...
  11. Hopefully some physicality is shown. I realize Roussel, Ferland, and Morte aren’t available but that isn’t an excuse to play soft. Have we scored a goal 5-10 feet away from the net yet? A dirty rebound goal in the crease? This team just clings onto the perimeter and it’s hard to watch.
  12. Babcock - easy. You can’t ignore Babcock’s achievements even if an argument could be made he coached stacked teams. However, in a perfect world, If I were Aquilini, I would back up the brink trucks for Gallant in Vegas. How he has been able to make a mish-mash of second and third liners/#4-5 defencemen play so cohesively is unprecedented. Anyone remember that one game last year where we got curb stomped by them? It was probably the most lopsided game I have ever watched.
  13. Wow. Too bad our team doesn't have the same gall to do this to our current coaches/GM.
  14. Boeser had a nice play on the goal, but I have not been impressed with him for the majority of the season (since his rookie season, actually). He always panics with the puck when he gets rushed and lacks the poise/smarts to make the right decisions in high-pressure situations. He's so careless with the puck and his skating is a big concern as it's probably below average by NHL standards. He legitimately kills so many plays when that line has possession with an errand pass or a low percentage shot. It sucks because he was on another level in his rookie season. What happened to that killer shot he had? Now it's either high, wide, off a stick, deflected. I guess his injuries drastically hampered his game? I don't even know who would replace him though, because Miller is the only other capable top 6 forward on this team. Maybe this team isn't as deep as we initially thought.
  15. Watching this team hasn't been fun for like 10 years now. Later.
  16. The reffing in these past 2 games reminded how much this once beautiful game sucks now.
  17. It has to be a systems/coaching problem. Other teams have no issue gaining our blue line with possession constantly, meanwhile we can barely string 4 consecutive passes when exiting our zone and resort to dumping and chasing.
  18. I think it's time to realize we only have 4 top six forwards. Pearson, Baertschi, Ferland, Virtanen, etc. are not the answer. This team has so many holes to fill.
  19. Who cares if he's eligible for waivers? Gaudette is a full-time NHLer. Eriksson is not. We are struggling to score now and Eriksson provides f#$% all.
  20. Travis Green sucks. Why is Eriksson in the lineup over Gaudette again?
  21. Boeser is needs to start skating. It looks like he barely breaks a sweat when he's on the ice. Good thing we bridged him.
