  1. I agree I'm not big on Gudbranson either and I doubt Florida would trade their 1st plus Gudbranson for 6th and Horvat. They need help on defense and wing. Honestly the cost to move up to 1st I don't think is worth it. I would stick with taking either one of Leon, Michael, Nikolaj or William. If Florida would do Tanev/Garrison, Gaunce, 6th(Nylander/Ehlers) two players they covet. I'd be on board but I feel it will cost more.
  2. I agree I believe mattsson will go mid 2nd and Lammiko late 2nd early 3rd, but considering that on their teams they didn't have big roles this past year yet performed well and both will have bigger roles next, I think they should be in consideration. Unless the nux get another mid 2nd rounder. To me Ollas Mattsson is the most intriguing, hopefully he will be around for their 3 round pick but I doubt it.
  3. If Thatcher is available in the second round he wont get past the likes Panthers, Blues or Isles. Lemieux or Quenneville could be around then most likely not as I see the Flames and Blues taking them. I'd go Pollock, Lammikko for forwards or Glover, Ollas Mattsson on Defence
  4. Fleury is no more riskier than Virtanen or Ritchie, I'd say that Fleury is the safer pick. The interest in Fleury could be preparation in case they decided to trade down. at 6th I'd take Ehlers, Nylander/Virtanen.
  5. Adrian Kempe will be more productive than Ritchie or Virtanen. Kempe is only 17 yet playing against men, Kempe's transition to the NHL will be quicker than these two, he may very well be the best all round p.f in this draft, but I still wouldn't take him at 6
  6. The Anaheim trade would be ideal, better than Pittsburgh, I would take Ehlers, Nylander or one of the 4 top 5, no to Draisaitl, I have a feeling that he will be the bust of this draft, something about his game is just a bit off, to me anyways. with the 10th I would take Adrian Kempe. if it's Draisaitl that drops then pass, take Ehlers, Nylander I agree I think Etem has the highest ceiling of their forward prospects, though I like Theodore better than Pouliot. I think Anaheim would be the best trading partner for Kesler.
  7. Virtanen had 1g, 3a in 6 playoff games, 1/4 pp 2/4 brassart regular season Brassart was in on 28% of Virtanen's points, does that make Virtanen's point total and game any less impressive? Anyway, Virtanen will not be a Lindros but he is compared to Iginla in terms of style, not as talented but would Iginla be as effective...... Ehlers may end up being less talented than Kane just as Virtanen may end up being a Taylor Pyatt instead of an Iginla. Though I think I would rather take my chance's with a Raymond/Grabner hybrid than a Pyatt/Bernier hybrid. At least we would get more point production and entertainment out of the first hybrid. Virtanen's teammates Brassart and Chase had approx 1 more point for every 3 games played. Does that make Virtanen less useful? This is Ehlers' first season in North America not bad for a rookie. Yes Drouin is right now better than Ehlers just as Brassart and Chase are right now better than Virtanen, scoring at approx 1 more point for every 3 games. One difference is that Drouin and Ehlers are top 5 players in the Q and Virtanen and Brassart/Chase are not yet top 20 in the W. However, that doesn't make Ehlers or Virtanen less talented than these other guys. Whoever the Canucks choose will be great though I believe in the course of their NHL careers Ehlers will have more points.
  8. Steve Bernier and Taylor Pyatt maybe you have heard of them? Is that what you are hoping for? as this is what Virtanen and Ritchie could turn into as opposed to Dustin Brown. Both Bernier and Pyatt are very similar to Virtanen and Ritchie in all, size, skill and prospective future in their time. Also you want to use the 6th pick to hopefully draft a Torres like player? I don't think so. As for Ehlers this is his first year in N.A and is putting up great numbers even for a high scoring league. I live out east and I do watch a lot of OHL and Q games and have seen a lot of Moosehead games, Drouin has helped him and that is anything but positive for Ehlers and not as much as people assume. It is junior hockey however his play is anything but small. He plays hard, he goes hard to the net, he plays infront of the net. His game is better than Ritchie's, and I have seen him play a few games as well. Though I haven't seen a single WHL game He is smaller than Ritchie and Virtanen but size can be added, the skills Ehlers has are hard to learn. Would I use the pick on Ehlers over Virtanen and Ritchie, yes!!! everyday of the week
  9. What a joke.. Luc needs to grow a pair of his own... he just woke the red machine, Wings in 5
  10. They are good at that.. they got Zetterberg in the 7th and Nyquist in the 5th I think
  11. I agree that there is a good chance that Draisaitl will drop to 6th and if none of the top 5 do, Nylander is the one to take. I like Ehlers but not at 6th if we also got another top 10 then Ehlers is a must.
