  1. I'm actually surprised that the Leafs won haha, can't congratulate this Leafs team at all, they didn't, imo, out play TB, who lost 3 games at home in OT. Stupid trade they made with Nashville, not who they needed. Oh well, gonna be a bigger hurt for the Leaf fan base once they lose in the next round. They should enjoy it as it will be another decade before they will experience a 2nd round.
  2. This will be a fun series to watch. I expect McDavid to up his game this round. Once Oilers win, Vegas will be open for some poor trade making decisions ala JB. Will be the perfect moment for our management team to take advantage and get a player or two the Canucks need and dump a player and an ltir player we don't want/need.
  3. This is perfect! Leafs lucky to win last 2 games in OT. In typical Leafs fashion they will blow this lead and lose in 7 games on Home Ice!!
  4. Lol some of these comments remind me of similar ones comparing Horvat to Domi where our fans would have taken Domi over Horvat as he was putting up more points in their 1st 4yrs.l than Horvat was. Where are they at now? Will be the same with Podz and Boldy. If the Canucks drafted Boldy it doesn't mean that he would be performing as well with the Canucks as he is currently with the Wild. It is all relevant to team system and style. Podz next year will be better than this last year and in 2 yrs he will be better than Boldy! Enjoy and cheer for the team and players we have
  5. I'd like Boone Jenner but he will be hard to pry away from Columbus or Colton Sissons from Nashville, but doubt Nashville will move him. Aside from them I don't care best to give Raty and Aman the chance at 3c
  6. The way I see it the Canucks will move up to 2oa and get Fantilli or Reinbacher will be there for us at 11. I don't mind either option. Personally I'd prefer Reinbacher over anyone not named Bedard or Fantilli. Reinbacher will be this years Moritz. Canucks finally get there No. 1 RHD
  7. Chokers gonna choke.. Leafs will win the first 2 games, be up be 3 in game 3 but end up losing that game and the next 3 after that, while leading in every game.
  8. Time for Alvin to send Brock home. Retain 1.5 mil, get Middleton and that Buff 2023 2nd and a later 2024 pick
  9. 1.Nick Jensen is UFA, a year younger than Schenn and underrated as a shut down 2nd pairing D. Sign him 2.Re-sign Bear 3.Target Henri Jakiharju from Buffalo in a trade. Or Target Shakir Mukhamadullin in trade with NJD (they have Nemec) Shakir could be expendable. Now only left to find a top pairing RD through trade moving some significant pieces.
  10. I know Ek is a steady eddy on D but he is a better player offensively than Freddy G and I would say a better play maker the Gaudreau too. If the wild had Gaudreau as there 2nd line C and Ek as there 3rd that's poor coaching, imo. Wasn't sure if Marat Khl contract was up this season or next. it will be tough for them for the next 2 years but that's why they are paid the big bucks to figure these things out. I'm sure they could fit Brock in if they want to. But personally as mentioned earlier I hope NJD miss out on Meier and come looking at Brock. I feel there is a good trade there for both sides
  11. This season most likely Eriksson Ek. Next season who knows, I'm sure they will try to sign Marat if his contact is up after the khl season is done this year.
  12. I could see Brock with Boldy and doing extremely well, being a 30 goal scorer again. We would definitely have to retain some on Brock to make it work with Minny, anything up to 1.85 mil is fine in my books, if we take back Greenway then I'd hope our GMs are good negotiators. Picks and prospects would need to come doesn't matter what Bill says. Personally I think a better trade could be made with NJD and Brock would excel over there. Hopefully NJD fail to get Meier and come back calling
  13. I think most are underestimate what Brock could return with retained salary. He hasn't been that bad, I'm also sure most GMs know the crap show in that has been going on here and the issues Brock has had. I expect Brock to be a 30+ goal score once he leaves here, his heart isn't into this team. As for Minny if we take Greenway back plus retain on Brock I'm sure we could squeeze more out of them
  14. With Minny in the possible mix again I would imagine that the Nux are gonna retain some salary on Brock maybe 1.85mil. And I would imagine Greenway or Addison would be coming this way. I'd hope that we insist on either Marat Khusnutdinov or Kyle Masters and this year's 2nd depending on players involved ie Greenway, Masters, 2nd or Addison, Marat
  15. Yay that's not gonna happen, that's just click bait. Honestly that offer is weak for Quinn.. If NJ really wants him then this team needs to make it a blockbuster and squeeze NJ for all their worth ie: Hughes, Boeser, Schenn for Bratt, Severson (re-signed) Holtz/Mercer, Nemec, Mukhamadullin, Foote, Malek and a pick(s) . Not gonna happen
  16. Hmmm Beauvillier, Raty, NYI 23/24 1st & JTM Or last TDL supposed offer Chytil, Lundqvist, NYR 23 1st & Horvat Maybe if the Canucks get a top 2 pick this year, draft Bedard or Fantilli and get this years NYI 13 to 16 pick and draft Swede RD Axel SandinPellika, I'd take this trade
  17. I can see and unexpected team in the mix and that being Carolina. I'd like to see AP, JR make a big trade with them get back Necas, Bear, Scott Morrow and Alex Nikishin
  18. not surprised.. should've been Nylander but thank god it's not ritchie
  19. i think they get to keep their first this year because they didn't re-sign Miller, but I could be mistaken
  20. interested what they could be offering Tarasenko/Schwartz/Berglund, rattie, 1st( barbashev, tuch, kempe, vrana).
  21. I agree, he doesn't solely rely on his size he is a skilled player, however his size does help him and gives him an advantage. Though if he doesn't rely on his size to score in the NHL then that is another reason not to choose him as I mentioned Ehlers is more skilled than Ritchie and from most accounts Nylander is just as skilled as Ehlers which again puts both players ahead of Ritchie. I have nothing against Ritchie he is a good player though not top 8 in this draft and if the Nux do choose him over these players, in 5 years it will be the same old song ... we should have could have drafted Ehlers/Nylander ...
  22. I live out east and have seen both players play LIVE and Ritchie doesn't not have the puck handeling skill that Ehlers does at top speed. Ritchie has good speed but Ehlers is faster both at top speed and accelerating. I would hope that Ritchie would dominate in the OHL considering that he is on average 40+ lbs heavier than most of the players in the league. Can he do that at the NHL level where the players are tougher, same size and more skilled then most CHLers? Considering what Ehlers has done in the Q, his first year in N.A and being on average 20 lbs lighter than most players in his league may just show that he has some skill. Ehlers does not hit as Ritchie does but it does not mean that he isn't physical, Ehlers does not shy away from the physical aspect and does play and go to the tough areas. It's just that he is faster than most of the players and and is able to avoid being hit. Ehlers in 2 - 3 years when he enters the league will show that he is one of the best players from this draft. I would much rather select the more skilled player at 6 Nylander/Ehlers and in the 2nd or 3 rd round select a player like Hunter Smith who is a smililar physical player as Ritchie albeit less skilled.
