  1. If Henrik is indeed hurt I really hope that he takes the time to actually heal this time. Love the captain but when you are injured sometimes enough is enough and you've got to take a knee.
  2. 7 minute powerplay? That is a new one for me....
  3. First post in this topic. Just like to say I have thought the Booth, Kassian, Richardson combo has looked pretty solid together and 3rd line minutes (at this point) seem to agree with Kassian. I think the development is going forward, not backwards and that can only mean good things for the Canucks.
  4. Wasn't there someone earlier this month guaranteeing that the Canucks wouldn't lose in regulation during December? I want my money back.
  5. Henrik is racking up the penalty minutes this season. Which is weird, usually he just takes the odd hooking call.
  6. Well this is certainly a bold topic, TOMapleLaughs. I'd definately say there is some 'game management' happening..not just in the playoffs but also in the regular season. But outright fixing? I'm not so sure...not yet. The PED theory is potentially interesting...i've also often wondered how Byfuglien was such a dominant beast in Chicago and yet somehow manages to stink up the building regularly in Winterpeg. Some definate food for thought there.
  7. 10 games for Thornton and 5 for Neal for that knee on Marchand sounds about right. Although the Canucks fan in me screams for a far stiffer punishment regarding Thornton.
  8. Well this is an injury the Canucks really didn't need (not that any are..). I hope if he sits out any amount of time that he doesn't dwell on his lack of production and comes back to %100 Burrows form.
  9. Yeah, I think this one comment is very telling on how the Canucks are trying to play defense right now.
  10. Panthers all over the Canucks so far. Defense needs to get some pucks out and make some first passes that actually connect.
  11. In the end this is a problem that may solve itself. When are those HNIC bidding rights up? Also, neither side is right in this argument. People in the West have a right to be annoyed with how CBC runs things and people in the East have a 'right' to expect as much as Leafs as they can handle because of market share. There is no perfect answer here but I do like the idea of a CBC West and a CBC East if they do retain the rights to HNIC.
  12. Ah, memories. I remember watching the Canucks with my dad and older brother b!tching about almost this exact scenario whenever we'd get a Saturday game CBC is still doing the whole Toronto (and to a somewhat lesser degree Montreal) slant on things but it isn't quite as oppressive now as it used to be. Also..I miss Howie Meeker, they should bring him back to whip those young'uns on the panel into shape.
  13. It would be a gross injustice to the greatest Canucks in franchise history to just let them walk. Eventually i'm sure they will be moved down the depth chart to a more secondary role when players like Kassian and Horvat come into their own but until then...they are the guys supplying points night in and night out..we'd be crazy to give up on them.
  14. Hopefully Schroeder see's the writing on the wall for his career and takes the lowest order of contract that can be offered to him. Because of Vancouver's upcoming cap crunch he is in the unique position that he may get played a fair amount even though he hasn't really earned a spot and won't have a summer of training to compliment the upcoming campaign. Next season should be very interesting.
  15. A lot of fans (myself included) are actually thinking the Canucks will be worse next year. But this will be a part of the process during our 're-tooling' phase. Not everyone is blindly optimistic or brutally negative.
  16. No coach of the Canucks has ever accomplished as much as Vigneault and it may be a looong while before we see another to match his achievements with the club. That being said, most everyone (AV included) knew that his time here had run its course and the natural thing is to part ways and move on. No one should be sad about the situation (nostalgia aside) as i'm sure Coach V will find gainful employment whenever he likes at whatever level he likes. This also allows Vancouver to follow its own agenda any way it likes although I have a feeling we are going to be far below expectations for the next season or two.
