Totally agree. If the plan is to see both of these players make the club then have Rathbone play a season in Utica. Joulevi needs NHL TOI. He is sitting right now and I am not particularly happy about it. I can see Green's rationale as he wants more stability and confidence within the existing lineup and winning does that. As much as no one wants to see injuries they will likely happen and OJ goes back in.

Juolevi is better than Benn at everything ...except hitting...

Benn just got injured to hopefully Oli gets back in for good...he is our best breakout passer and he has a great stick for knocking pucks off sticks and into the corners from around the front of the net.

If you watch him closely you can see the high level hockey sense he possesses...don't know why Greeener can't see that....!

I don't personally see this tweet as a big deal. On the other hand, I'm glad that Green's getting criticism for how he "rolls" lines. Last game was a good effort, but no dice. Honestly, I am not willing to write this team off. We need to see another coach to see exactly what changes can be made. Sadly, I think this season has already been written off by upper management.

Pretty sure Green's not going to be extended though.

Big Mac deserves at least 10-12 minutes a game....

    Mac Mom for coach....!

    Let's make it a thing....!

Unless he improves over the rest of this season I fail to see why Seattle would select him.  Having a save percentage of less than 0.900 is pretty mediocre.  Maybe Ian Clark (when the team actually has the practice time) can work his 'magic' on him (not really time for him to work with him much during this pandemic).  Not sure what happened to his game as I don't follow the Capitals....but wasn't he playing at the level of Vezina like a bunch of years ago?

Holtby is going to be just fine and I expect he will be the guy taken...

As for Juolevi....for those people who look at the TV while the game is on but can't actually see what is going on...which is many of you...

Oli has been our best D. for more than a few games now...he is the only D. that hasn't made a glaring error leading to a goal against.

Oli has been preventing goals by getting his stick on pucks in the crease...by creative coverage of whoever he is checking...by excellent outlet passes.

....by being in the right place at the right time...

Oli has hit posts and been unlucky around the other teams net...he should have 3-5 goals  instead of just one.

Oli is going to keep getting better... QH is our only other D. currently on the team that is getting better...all the vets are going downhill now.

Trading Oli now is the DUMBEST thing Benning could do....period

    Oh....and ....

    Just watch....!

Wishful thinking? They'd be more likely to take Motte, Virtanen, Gaudette or Stecher if still here. I'd even seriously consider Juolevi over Roussel.

Holtby is the obvious pick...Juolevi is/will be a stud...

They are in a fight to win games. They are icing the best team they can.

And clearly they view that as a defense w/ Chatfield on the right instead of Juolevi on the left.

From the previous few pages....it seems we can't have Juolevi in due to cap space...he requires double his salary in cap space now for some weird reason....and somehow Erikkson doesn't...?

Those were undisciplined penalties, not the refs fault. The Canucks, knowing TOR has the best PP in the league, should've played a clean, hard game,. But they hooked, they slashed, etc. It cost them.

So did Toronto...but they didn't call most of them...they finally called a slash on a Petey break when he got slashed on the hands by 2 Laff's at the same time...they had to call that one.

The game before Edler took a penalty in the 1st period that set us up for the the whole lousy game...it was a phantom call ...all he did was push a guy over in the crease with the puck close by and they called it cross checking....

This is happening many times every game....!

  7. Anyone believe in Canuckluck now....

I blame it on naming the original Vancouver hockey team the "Millionares"....really obnoxious name for a team...

Welcome to Canuckluck Oli....hits the post with a rocket of a shot that cleanly beat Price from well out...hustles his butt back up the ice to break up a rush and the puck goes in the net off of his stick...

just like Louie's first goal with us....the empty netter into our own goal...

Just like the 2-3 posts a game that EP has been hitting...

Just like the way EP can't seem to keep upright on his skates this year...

Last game we played rugby for the first period...that is all on Green....we played like we should be playing in the 2nd, but not much luck as usual...in the 3rd we played like an AHL team...

I am still thinking Green just isn't right for this team...the fact that he was a skill guy in junior but got told to be an energy/checker in the NHL if he wanted to stick around...

That just leaves him screwing around with our star players....if he turns EP into a checker...and doesn't let Hogs do his thing....Green has to go...

I don't think we have had a good coach for 30 years or so really....

Someone needs to pound Kotnaniemi into the boards from behind tonight.

That little puke PURPOSEFULLY tried to mangle Pettersson 2 years ago.

For those who are unaware, he skated up behind Elias, 'scuse me bumped him, and after he checked both refs he wrapped his leg around our super star and fell to the ice.

Pettersson could have been catastrophically injured, and NO ONE did anything to that little puke.

There is a code in this game, and he 100% broke it.

With that said, I'm uncertain if anyone on this team has the spine to enforce it.

Petey just  got a penalty for doing substantially less to a Calgary player....after that player did about the same to him....

The ref's are still calling the game against us ...even though we don't play the US teams....U Bet man must hate us as much as we hate him....!

  9. Sucks to have Milsy out...but....

I feel we have a stronger team than last year...our D. is way more balanced and the top 4 are just as good as last year while the 3rd pairing is going to be better by a long shot come mid-season...

Our goaltending is probably just as good or better with Demko improving and Holtby working with Ian should equal a bounce back season....

Our forward depth is better with the young guys getting better and Hog's arriving...

EP, QH, JV, ZM, BB and even the already great BH will all be better again this year...some by a good bit (JV looks primed for a big year and so does BB and QH)

TSN can apologize after the cup run we make....!

many of the writers have high predictions for the Canucks....Finishing ahead of both Alberta teams in most instances.  They have a higher opinion of the team than many of the local media do!

Before we got Hamonic and before Hogs starting looking like a lock....I was seeing more writers predicting us out of the playoffs...almost all the writers in the latest story have the Canucks in the playoffs...

For me ...I have our D. improved by a good bit with the growth of QH and the addition of OJ being the biggest boosts...but Nate should be better than Tanev as well...

So the goaltending is the only slight question mark...but really it is unlikely to cost us more than a game or 2 over what Marky could have done...

Pete is a bona-fide superstar and was expected to to be a pp player from his rookie season. Hoglander is a nobody who most of us never heard of, any true hockey fan knows he won't hang on to the top 6 it seems silly to place someone there that won't end up there. The top 6 spot was for Jake not an unproven small rookie, I have every right to be doubtful.

    ...wrong...
