I missed 1040 a lot, and I agreed with OP that I feel kind of out of the loop of what's happening with the team.
I tuned in to 650 one time, and the 2 hosts spent 5 minutes discussing whether Gaudette is a legit goal scorer on the team. All I can say is the discussion is pretty boring and I turned to something else.
It’s amazing that when they have possession in the offensive zone for a certain amount of time but not a single shot on goal.
i mean what kind of system is this?
Well in a sports world players DO have a say of who leaves and who stays. In all 4 leagues in North America there is always a case that a team could turn the corner after a coach/a GM/someone from management is being relieved of his duties. In the Canucks case, it is Benning that needs to go because he is the root of the problem.
I keep thinking that at this point the right things to do is to fire Benning. I think the players are more disgusting playing for him than for Green.
Hire a new GM, and let him decide what to do with Green.
Screening the goalie is not part of the game plan, plus we don’t have the players that are willing to do that kinda thing.
That’s why the Canucks always have a tough time beating Hellebuyck, Price, and now Markstrom.
The thing about the 1040 hosts is that they would bring in the entertainment value into their show while talking sports. Occasionally I would laugh at their jokes while listening in my commute.
The young talents at 650 should learn a thing or two about that.
I agreed 100%. I listened to 650 on my commute yesterday, made no mistake the hosts are great, but it kinda missing that dynamic between the 1040 hosts used to have. May be it was the first time I am listening to the show...
