  1. For GMs who have not responded back to me on UFA negotiations, you have until the end of the draft to do so, otherwise your players will automatically be forfeited to FA.
  2. Columbus will release the following players to FA: Jason Blake Jason Chimera Eric Nystrom Frantisek Kaberle Ole-Kristian Tollefsen Mark Stuart
  3. Another season in the books in Columbus, and another franchise first as the Columbus Blue Jackets won their first playoff series in franchise history against the San Jose Sharks, but lost in the 2nd round to the Vancouver Canucks in 5 games. This season saw the team improve slightly overall, but still has the reoccurring problem of being fairly poor on the defensive side of things as a whole, as the team still allowed too many goals against, and if not for Cam Ward, would've been in a lot worse shape. On the positive side of things, Kris Russell and Derrick Brassard took another step forward this season, both registering career highs. Derrick put up 28 goals and 43 assists this season for 71 points, having an incredibly productive season, far more than we could ask for from Derrick. Kris Russell had a team-leading 57 points for defensemen this season, putting up 6 goals and 51 assists, as he's started to solidify himself as one of the best OFDs in the league. Cameron Ward also had a noticeable improvement as he posted a career high sv% with .923 this season, and was a massive reason the team got as far as they did this year. On the other end, Larionov still needs to work on his faceoff abilities as he has struggled heavily in that department. While he is still very young, we do expect him to be more proficient in a position he's played his entire career leading up to the NHL, and hope to see him improve in that department. He also recorded less points this year than his rookie season, but only by 5 points, and while we would've loved to see him improve a la Derrick, we're happy he's contributing at such a young age on our roster regardless. We do hope to see higher totals from him next season however. Petr Sykora also seems to have lost his groove with the top line this season, which saw him quickly get demoted to the 3rd line for a good majority of the year. He did end up still performing decent enough despite playing with Jason Chimera and Jason Blake, but it seems he's started to fall out of favour in Columbus and may need a change of scenery this off-season. While it's been the same for the past few seasons, in that we hope to continue to see progression from our younger players to help the team continue to improve, which they have, our chances to potentially compete are likely hitting their peak as some big contracts are likely to be coming our way next off-season. Depending on how the season goes next year, could end up resulting in some bigger names, and even longtime Blue Jackets being dealt. For now, here are the team awards for this year. Team MVP: Cameron Ward (40W, 16L, 8OTL, .923sv%) - While there are a lot of choices for MVP this year as quite a few players were instrumental in our success, Cameron had to deal with the fact our team is still quite poor on the defensive side of things as we were once again on the higher end of playoff teams in goals allowed, Cameron did all that he could and more to help push our team to the playoffs. No question if Cameron wasn't in net the outcome for our team this year would be much, much different. Best Defenseman: Marek Zidlicky (4G, 52A) - Marek was our best defenseman this year, putting up 56 points and being an all-around monster on both sides of the ice. A +32 which was far and away the best on our team, there is no doubt Marek was an integral contributor to our playoff berth this season and has fit on our roster after acquiring him last season from Philadelphia much better than we anticipated. Best Newcomer: Eric Nystrom (12G, 16A) - Eric did a much better job than we anticipated this season on our 4th line. A FA pickup, we expected around 15ish points from Eric and to get almost double the production we expected from him playing on the 4th line, we couldn't really ask for more. It's a shame Eric will be heading to FA again as we simply won't be able to afford to re-sign him after his season, but whoever does shouldn't be disappointed. Most Improved: Derrick Brassard (28G, 43A) - Derrick has continued to show consistent progression each season he's played. While he still lacks the ability to be over 50% at FOs, he's made up for that with a jump from 58 points to 71 this season, and he consistently seems to click with anyone he plays with, which is a huge benefit when shifting around lines.
  4. EASTERN CONFERENCE GMs, PM ME FOR YOUR UFAs OR DM ON DISCORD. Reminder that all contracts previous to this season can not and will not be used as an example of why X player should make Y money. THE GUIDELINES HAVE CHANGED FOR PLAYER SALARIES, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GO OVER THEM AGAIN BEFORE YOU SEND ME A PM. All goalies go through PK as well, so do not send me goalie offers as I will blatantly ignore them. DEFENSE The higher their points/TOI and the better their GA/TK ratio is, the higher end of the salary range they will receive. An RFA would be in the lower range but potential is also factored. 0-15pts: 0.500M to 1M 15-25pts: 1M to 2M 25-35pts: 2M - 3M 35-45pts: 3M - 4M 45-55pts: 4M - 5M 55-65pts: 5M - 6M 65pts+: 6M - 7M FORWARDS Based on year to year consistency. An RFA would be in the lower range but potential is also factored. Centers and defensively responsible players add to their value. 0-10PTS: 0.500M 10-20pts: 0.500M - .750M 20-30pts: .750M - 1.25M 30-40pts: 1.25M - 2M 40-50pts: 2M - 3M 50-60pts: 3M - 4M 60-70pts: 4M - 5M 70-80pts: 5M - 6M 80-90pts: 6M - 7M 90ts+: 7M
  5. Columbus Blue Jackets place a claim on Jason Blake.
  6. Petr Sykora is available. Has struggled this season. Would be looking to downgrade on the RW, as well as chipping off some cap coming back our way. Also looking for a 3C, does not have to be a defensive 3C.
  7. Columbus Blue Jackets after placing 7th in the West last season and getting ousted in the first round 4-1 by the Stanley cup finalist Chicago Blackhawks had an off-season which saw them lose two valuable players in Marc Savard and Chris Pronger due to cap issues. While both are a huge loss in terms of talent for the roster, we've seen growth and progression from some of our players over the past year and we hope some can take another step forward. This season bigger roles will be given to the likes of Derrick Brassard, Maksim Larionov, and Kris Russell, all three of which have played much better than we've anticipated and we do hope to look for more from them despite that if we wish to make the playoffs this year. Deadline day "rental" Marek Zidlicky will be the teams #1 defenseman going forward with the departure of Chris Pronger as we as a franchise had to make a difficult decision of which one to keep, and felt that Marek was a better fit moving forward for our team. We're also excited to welcome a few free-agent additions in Frantisek Kaberle; who will be playing alongside Rostislav Klesla to start the year, Stephane Yelle; who will be our 3C to start the season which might be a risky move on our part as he is likely better suited for a 4C role, and Eric Nystrom and Mark Stuart who will both fill out the 4th line and bottom pairing respectively. Unsure of where our team stands going into this season, we hope most of our younger players can continue to progress forward this year otherwise we could potentially find ourselves back outside the playoffs. Rick Nash - Derrick Brassard - Petr Sykora Ville Leino - Maksim Larionov - Nikolai Zherdev Jason Chimera - Stephane Yelle - David Jones Eric Nystrom - Wayne Primeau - Mike Grier Kris Russell - Marek Zidlicky Frantisek Kaberle - Rostislav Klesla Mark Stuart - Ole-Kristian Tollefsen Cam Ward Y u heff 2 b mad it only game
  8. With the signing of boomer Frantisek Kaberle, we only have enough room for so many people in our bingo hall. With that, the Columbus Blue Jackets waive Hal Gill.
  9. You cannot waive players signed in FA unless they play 20 games for you otherwise you'll incur a GM rep penalty which will make it harder for you to sign FAs the following season.
