  1. It's too bad Letang just re-signed. If Miller was moved out I would of loved to see that money go towards Letang. I could of lived with the same deal Pittsburgh just gave him, especially with Myers off the books in the next few years.
  2. and we can still draft a dman with our 15th or Washingtons 20th pick, or both those picks. I think walking away from this weekend with something like Connor McMichael, Hendrix Lapierre, Owen Pickering, and Ryan Chesley would be quite the step in the right direction. Or the two picks would allow us to take a gamble on a guy like Brad Lambert or Miroshnichenko, then a D with the later pick.
  3. Could of had Shea Theodore instead of Hunter Shinkaruk, could of had Nicolas Hague instead of Kole Lind, etcccccccccc. Lots of those situations in hindsight.
  4. The Canucks have been talking to Slafkovsky for quite a while now!
  5. Hmm what a funny concept! If you want some defencemen, you should draft a few?! The canucks rarely got that memo over the last 20 plus years (in the first round)
  6. Meh... Georgievs save percentage has dropped literally every year hes played. (if you don't include the 2 playoff games from this year). He started out at .918%,and worked his way down to .898%
  7. Was high on him in his draft year. Thought there was a good chance we would actually draft him if Hughes didn't fall to us like he did.
  8. Miller doesn't have a say in where he goes. He puts up with one year of wherever we send him. Columbus aquiring Miller would show Patrick Laine that they mean business moving forward. Much like in the past when they made moves to aquire Artemi Panarin and then Matt Duchune, Columbus is often a team that has to aquire players through trade as it is hard for them to attract free agents. Columbus just aquired Adam Boqvist and Jake Bean last year who are 21 and 24 years old respectivley, and Vladislav Gavrikov had a nice showing to of course go along with Werenski as their anchor. Losing Ceulemans isn't super detrimental. He's a nice piece, but far from a blue chip guaranteed top pairing guy and would't be on their team for another year or two anyways. They had the benefit of drafting both Kent Johnson and Cole Sillinger last year. They can afford to lose one of them, especially if it means adding Miller.
  9. Yea Miller to Columbus just to piss them off! Then phone them up laughing when they lose in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs again. ps : Ceulemans and either one of Cole Sillinger or Kent Johnson and im sold
  10. There were rumours that Edmonton was interested in Cory Schneider, so we would of got the 7th pick, but Gillis said he still would have drafted Horvat at 7th anyways, so opted to trade Schneider to the east.
  11. Besides Braden Schneider, theres Morrow in Carolina, Ceulemans in CB
  12. Carolina's trade pieces are Necas, Morrow, Drury, Suzuki, and picks.
  13. Talk about jumping the gun! These gm's play hard ball down to the wire to try to see who's bluffing. Teams won't increase there offer until they actually need to (the last half an hour or so). I dont agree with these reports at all. Besides, theres still hours and hours and hours to go. Nothings happening on the Brock Boeser front at all! Eerily quiet! *Signed the next day*
  14. Kakko Lundquist. I don't get the hype with Marino here at all. The guys already going to be 26 next season, weights 180 pounds, provides almost nothing offensively. Plus Kapanen is 25 as well. His numbers are extremely pedestrian. We would be giving up Miller for basically a #4/5 defenseman and a 3rd liner. You take Kakko and Lundvist on age and potential alone.
  15. There are two issues I have with this scenario. First, the Penguins have traded away their first round picks in 2013,2015,2016,2017,2018,2020, and 2021. Brian Burke was on Vancouver radio earlier in the year and stated they did not want to trade anymore 1st round picks for the forseable future, noting that they recognize its time to re-stock. Second, Pittsburgh simply doesn't have the assets to match other teams offers.
  16. Yea I don't think Lafreniere is going anywhere. They have enough pieces to aquire Miller withouth giving up Lafreniere, just indulging in the fun scenarios. This draft can't come soon enough.
  17. Horvats not really the player you expected with the hype we got him in the first round?? Hes one of the best face off men in the league, became or captain, just broke the 30 goal plateau despite missing 12 games last year, and is a playoff beast. If you look at the 2013 draft class you could make the argument that he was the absolute best pick we could have made in the 9 spot, and if there was re-draft he probably goes a few spots higher. Sounds pretty good to me!
  18. Yeah I think Lafreniere would still be the sticking point there. I don't think they want to give up on their first overall pick just yet. Could change their stance if the 15th overall came along with Miller though I then think things get serious for all parties involved. Lafreniere to Montreal - love the home town kid JT Miller and 15th overall to New York - They get the best current player in the trade, plus a pick to recoup their assests lost 1st overall and Braden Schneider to the Canucks - I still wouldn't do this trade if it was Chytil involved. Giving up the 15th overall would have to have Schneider included again. I like it!
  19. Too bad theres no chance the Rangers give up both Schneider and Lafreiniere. A third team being involved is supposed to make things more even for everyone. In this case Montreal gets involved and the rangers end up having to add more than they would of in the first place if it was just them dealing with the Canucks alone. But yes, I absolutley love the scenario for the Canucks lol! Slafkovsky/Wright and Schneider would be amazing.
  20. Theres such a weird dynamic with trades when you read this message board. If the Canucks were the ones trying to aquire a player of JT Millers capabilities the replies you would hear are: "Never going to happen, no way we could get this guy, the other team is going to want at least Quinn Hughes and Vasily Podkolzin and possibly a pick" But when we're the ones selling a very valuable asset its: "No chance we get anything good, were going to get screwed and backed into a corner and have to accept a $&!# return" Or like you mentioned: "I was just on the Rangers message board and their fans say theirs zero chance they give up Schneider" uhh ok... I guess thats how things are decided then!
  21. Thats fine. That still leaves the likes of: Kappo Kakko, Brennan Othmann, Filip Chytil, Nils Lundqvist, Vitaly Kravstov and next years 1st rounder as options from the Rangers, And: Dawson Mercer, Alexander Holtz, Nolan Foote, Kevin Bahl, Ty Smith, Pavel Zacha and next years first as potential options from the Devils. Thats of course not including: Martin Necas, Scott Morrow, Jack Drury, Ryan Suzuki, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and their 1st next year as well from Carolina. And thats only teams we know about.
  22. Canucks fans in a nutshell: -Someone the same calibre as Tylers Myers becomes available as a free agent: PLEASE SIGN THEM IMMEDIATELY -Said player once they're on the team: We gave this guy 6 million?? He's maybe worth 5 million max. THIS GUY SUCKS.
  23. The lane we're picking is pretty simple: JT Miller won't win this team a cup by himself, and we cant afford to sign a 30 year old to a long term anchor contract. No one is saying the expect Mason Marchment to replace or match JT Millers contributions, but he seems like he could be a good addition none the less!
