  1. Who cares what other people think? Everyone out of Vancouver (and even the local media with guys like Botchford) have been saying negative things about the Canucks for years. We don't fight back and the media questions the manhood of the team. We start fighting back and we suddenly turn into goons? I, for one, appreciate what Torts did and I think what he did will light a fire under the players. Our coach just showed that he is willing to take on an entire team and coaching staff alone to stand up for his team. Torts is a guy who players will go to battle for. #FreeTorts
  2. Roy goes ballistics and people praise him and he gets slapped with a fine.\ Torts lets his anger get the better of him and he gets 3-10 games?
  3. We need Luongo, Burrows and Stanton back.
  4. I thought Neal would make the team. Second highest PPG in the NHL besides Crosby. Same as St. Louis, he has amazing chemistry with Stamkos and they would have had lots of space to work their magic on the big ice. The team looks alright though. Certainly a lot better than the American team on paper.
  5. Go Canucks! Let's start another win streak! Please don't underestimate the Jets..they are a great team
  6. Let's just win this game and get over with the Boston stuff already. It's been two years and mostly everything has cooled down by now. I just hope the Canucks don't lose motivation to play after this game (like they did in 2012) Is this game special? Yeah it is. First time Luongo is starting back-to-back games under Torts. Let's see how he does.
  7. Wow. Canucks are actually on the front page of NHL.com..guess the NHL wants everyone know that the Oilers lost?
  8. I think powerforwards take longer to develop and get used to the NHL game. I'd probably give Kassian one or two more seasons before calling him a disappointment. Bertuzzi was what, 25 when he broke out?
  9. Looks like they got him to protect their youngsters...he's quiet young so I can see him developing into a solid 4th line centre who can fill into the 3rd line if there are injuries. Sounds like a younger replacement for TIm Jackman? It's funny how Calgary trades for people after they were on waivers just a couple days ago. Is this the second time it's happened? I guess it gives them flexibility because he is in Abbotsford now and Calgary won't have to send him down again...
  10. I don't think Moulson will do that well in Buffalo but he had great chemistry with Tavares...why break that up?
  11. Every team in the league wants a top 6 winger who can score goals consistently...they don't just grow off trees. To get one Gillis will have to give up a quality piece (Edler? Horvat?) If a player that fit our team came at a good price Gillis would have gotten us one a long time ago. If Gillis does a trade like that, people will start complaining about our poor defensive depth and lack of blue-chip prospects in the system... It's still early on in the season, I wouldn't worry too much. Yes the Canucks aren't playing up to the standard that the fans expect them to but to be frank the regular season doesn't matter that much. The 8 seed LA Kings were average all year before getting hot in the playoffs; the 2009 Penguins had a terribly average season and ended up winning the Stanley Cup. I know that those situations don't happen often but fans should stop panicking so early into the season. I'm seeing a lot of positives from the Canucks this year. I'm liking the Canucks never-give-up attitude and it's great to see us continue playing hard even when we have a lead. While Hamhuis has been bad. Edler has really stepped up his game. I'm sure that Hamhuis will be able to find his game soon. Also, Booth has been playing great recently....not to mention we are missing Burrows. Believe in the Canucks!
  12. Am I the only one here who listens to K-pop??
