The "Monday Night Football" showdown between the NFC South rivals Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints has national pundits taking sides, and players taking offense, already.

ESPN TV analyst Trent Dilfer said in a report by ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas that the Saints not only could beat the Falcons on Monday night but could come back in the playoffs and beat them again - at the Georgia Dome.

Falcons receiver Roddy White took to his verified Twitter account, @roddywhiteTV, to write, "No chance in hell the Aints come into the dome and win once trent dilfer."

Saints defensive end Will Smith, @iwillsmith, took exception: "Wondering how @roddywhitetv has the audacity to call us AINTS" with this picture attached.

Offensive lineman Jonathan Goodwin, @jgoody76, followed up with, "Just got even more excited for Monday!"

Roddy White still chirping the Saints

Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White has been causing a stir Wednesday with some of the posts he's been making on his Twitter account - @RoddyWhiteTV. Here's a sampling of some his comments, which started when he referred to the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints as the "Aints" in a post he made about an ESPN video that said the Saints could win Monday in Atlanta.

Eliot Kamenitz / The Times-PicayuneAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is adding some spice to an already sizzling Monday night matchup with the New Orleans Saints. "The saints win one championship and want to go crazy well yall ass aint winning this year we gone make sure tht doesn't happen"

"The first time we played them their coach gone say after we won the game thts a good win for yall like the saints are the colts"

"The grace of god gave them tht championship so tht city wouldn fall apart now and now they think they hot crap in ... http://tmi.me/4ugiT

"

"Yall fans keep talking making it worst for those guys tht got to guard me cause yall don't lol"

"The aints fans are so rude we shall see monday night"

The tweet that started it all:

"No chance in hell the Aints come into the dome and win once trent dilfer"

The Falcons said in a press release issued Wednesday that White would no longer be made available to the New Orleans media via teleconference Wednesday. Running back Michael Turner instead will answer questions about Monday night's game.

I honestly could barely understand 90 percent of his tweets.

With that said:

Roddy White is a great receiver. He's really having a great season, as are the Falcons.

Though it gives him no right to continually trash talk the defending-Superbowl Champions.

The grace of god didn't give them a championship, Drew Brees and Sean Payton did. Not to mention Saints fans are probably some of the nicest fans that I've ever met. Any time you're the defending champs, you can talk smack.

No surprise but McNabb wants a release from the Redskins

In a move that will shock no one who has been paying attention to the situation, Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb wants the team to release him, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Per Schefter, McNabb wants to be able to pick the team with which he’ll finish his career.

That’s fine. But why then did McNabb accept a new deal that paid him $3.5 million and that gave the Redskins the ability to squat on his rights until the day after the 2011 regular-season opener? If McNabb hadn’t signed the contract, he would have been a free agent after the season.

At a bare minimum, McNabb should have to pay back the $3.5 million. With interest.

The question becomes whether coach Mike Shanahan will insist on trying to trade McNabb, and whether Shanahan will be willing to allow the situation in 2011 to become a Haynesworthian affair, at least until the eve of the regular-season opener.

So Minny vs Philly has been moved to Tuesday

And the Bears Jets game is 38-34 Bears at the moment...I thought it was going to be one of those defensive games

Tuesday? Why not tomorrow? And why is Minnesota always involved in these things :D

I wonder how bad the snow in Philly is if they postponed the game.

Jets and Ravens clinch playoff sports.

Pats home field throughout.

KC will lock up the AFC West with a Chargers loss, the chargers are down 10 right now with about 8 to go.

NFC West will come down to the last game next week in Seattle vs Rams.
