The Relationship Between Fans And Goalies Put Into Perspective

It doesn't make you elite over a career, maybe (though, if those three years are good enough...), but it does make him elite right now. If you can't see that after he set the record for save percentage last year and won everything, and had a good year this year again, and won 2 of the last 3 vezinas, and the won the conn smythe, then you're an idiot homer.

And the Sedins play is NOT characterized by continuous change and their scoring is especially not so. Anyone who has watched them over their career knows this.

They score mainly one way, through the cycle game. When that is taken away in the playoffs because the corners are a nastier place to play in the playoffs, they don't play up to their regular season standard. Thus, they are not dynamic scorers that scorers. If they were, they wouldn't be so easy to shut down in the playoffs.

Agree with OP, they are highly paid, and professionals, They just like movie stars know what they are getting into, having said that they are human and are prone to screw ups and at times saying the wrong things, so i guess we could cut them some slack.

As for players, coaches, and GMs falling out of favour with their teams and fans, there are many reasons for that some are obvious and some aren't, with Luo and AV it is obvious.

Luo can't seem to handle the pressure anymore, and AV is not seeming to adapt his coaching style to the types of players MG is giving him, this would suggest that a few changes in the off season may be required by MG. Like it or not this seems to be the way things are panning out.

Loungo has had 6 great years in Vancouver putting up great numbers and shattering many records, the reality of the sport is his days are numbered.History in this city tells us he is past his epiration date. Even if he ends up being #1 next season again and Schneider gets traded the next goalie controversy is just around the corner whether it be Eddie Lack or someone new. Sports careers are a short window to be successful and nothing less than a cup will be more important than all the Gold medals in the world. Schneider is the better goalie right now.
