Extreme Makeover: Canucks Edition

Recommended Posts

to sj: edler

to van: havlat, vlasic

both teams get what they need, sj gets a strong left side d-man and we get a solid replacement for edler and a LEGIT player to skate with kesler and booth. that line has all the tools to be the best 2nd line in the NHL, they are all rush-type players so they should mesh well

to nyi: ballard, 2nd pick 2012

to van: 4th pick 2012

self explanatory.

to tb: luongo, raymond(RFA rights)

to van: connolly, 1st pick 2012

luongo gets a fresh start and he wont be pummeled by the media and fans so he can just worry about hockey. we get an up and coming 30+ goal scorer who plays the game hard and the 10th overall pick in the draft.

re-sign:

bitz 1yr/700k

ebbett 1yr/525k

weise 2yrs/1.3m

gragnani 2yrs/1.6m

pahlsson 1yr/1.5m

schneider 4yrs/16m

sign:

allen 2yrs/6m

zanon 2yrs/4m

niittymaki 1yr/1m

notes:

- DON'T fire av, he is a great coach and there is noone better to replace him

- salo should retire but if he wants back i would give a 1yr/1m but alberts would haft to be dumped

- tanev will be ready to take on a bigger role

- i would expect connolly and kassian to start the year in chicago, they both arent ready

 ......its a salary dump...?

are you implying that ballard has trade value?

you haft to throw in a 2nd pick because not many teams are gonna be very willing to take on ballards contract the way he has played in his two years here in van city...although all he needs is minutes and fresh start but teams wont be willing to risk it so you haft to entice teams with the 2nd pick

he had a freak injury this year....when he came back from his injury he was money for sj down the stretch.

over the previous three seasons he has only missed 14 games

over his last three playoff years he has 14 goals, 17 assists, 31 points in 31 games.....clutch
