Armada
I can see it, with the exception of Tootoo. 4th line will be: Manny - Lappy - Kassian again. But how was this accomplished. Luongo To Tampa for Purcell and 1st round pick?

Armada
ya and why you hate tootoo so much.
Patrick Jane
Don't hate him. Just not the player I want on my team, not to mention he's loyal to Nashville, doubt he'd want to leave and doubt they'd want him to leave.

Zoolander
Schenn is awful now, would not consider it. He played bottom minutes on the bottom pairing, would not take a risk on that especially when you're trading away Luongo.
Armada
He got more than 20+ points, was their best shut-down d-man and led the team in hits.
RyanKeslord17
Raymond got us 20 points in 55gp but we all know he was argueably our worst player this season. He was also a nice juicy minus -6. As I've seen some Toronto games and talking to Leafs fans they all tell me Schenn has been one of their worst defensemen this year. Stats don't always speak the truth. TheWheeler
I like Schenn, I think he's going to end up being a really solid Dman. But why DO PEOPLE KEEP ADDING GARRISON WITH EDLER? Seriously, another Lefty is NOT what this team needs, especially one paired with Edler.
Armada
Raymond is a forward, Schenn is a defencemen. Can't compare points there. And I think Schenn is going to be a very good Dman IF he plays here. He can fully develop here and get lots of ice with good players.

Phil_314
Two lineups I wouldn't mind seeing if Lu is dealt: Twins - Booth Burrows - Kes - Purcell Higgins - Stoll - Hansen (sign Stoll for two-way 3rd line, $3.8M?) Manny - Lapierre - Bitz/ Kassian Hammer - Juice Edler - Brewer Harrison - Tanev (Ballard to Carolina, where he can slot in the Top 4 once Pitkanen goes down; Harrison's hard-nosed and solid) Cory Lack/ other backup (Sanford) Lu, Raymond's rights for Purcell, Brewer, 2nd Ballard for Jay Harrison from Carolina, sign Stoll (constants in this post) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd: (Top line, bottom six, plus first and third D-pairings and goalies the same as above lineup) 2nd line: Kulemin - Kes - Burrows 2nd pairing: Edler - Gunnarsson Lu, Raymond's rights for Gunnarsson, Kulemin's rights and 2nd (or Kadri and 5th?) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other signings I'd like to see if the Top 6 play maker or Top 4 D aren't acquired even with Lu traded (for salary simplicity traded for picks): $18,055,000 available with Lu and Ballard gone: Ennis - Kes - Burrows (sign Ennis for $3M as RFA from Buffalo) Edler - Garrison (was low-balled by Florida at $2.5M but would likely accept hometown discount just like Hammer; sign for $3.2M) sign Cory for $3.5M sign Stoll at $3.8M should have roughly $4.55M still available after these moves (pray that Raymond's not qualified!) bring back Rome ($0.8M), Bitz ($0.8M), Weise ($0.9M), Ebbett ($0.6M) --> roughly $1.45M left by the way here's an article which may make signing Garrison all the more attractive, with Edler's gaffes in mind: http://www.the6thsens.com/2012-articles/march/jasongarrison993931.html
RyanKeslord17
What I was saying is stats don't always tell the truth. Luke Schenn was good 2 seasons ago, since then Leafs fans have been very frustrated. If anything I'll trade Luongo for someone who's ready right now. Not someone who still needs to get better. Mack Attack
Sedin Sedin Burrows Kulemin Kesler Booth Higgins McClement Hansen Duco Malhotra Lapierre Volpatti Hamhuis Bieska Elder Garrison Gunnarsson Tanev Rome Alberts Schneider Nittymaki Trade Luongo and Mason Raymond's rights to Toronto for Carl Gunnarsson and Nikolai Kulemin's rights. Gunnarsson's a pretty effective shutdown guy, and would be able to move up to top 4 in the case of injury, while Kulemin is a big (6 ft 2, 235 pounds) winger coming off a brutal season. Perfect buy low candidate, and he fits with Gillis' desire to get bigger and younger. Sign Jason Garrison to a reasonable contract ($3-4M). He's been talked about a lot here, but he really is the best fit of players available and he'd compliment Edler well. He doesn't have a right-handed shot, but he can play the right side. Last time we paired Edler with a dman on his offside it worked pretty well. Sign Jay McClement to a cheap deal ($1-1.5M). Good defensive centre who'll give us some depth. He'd work well on either the 3rd or 4th line IMO. Lapierre might actually compliment Higgins and Hansen better, but AV can figure that out in the fall. Sign Antero Nittymaki as long as he doesn't ask for more than 1.5. Give Kassian, Gragnani, and Schroeder more time in the minors (never hurts, and I don't think any of them are really ready) and keep Jensen in junior. Edit: Wow, didn't see MessiNacity10's TOR-VAN deal. Didn't copy it, but nice to see someone else thinks it'd be a good deal.
