elvis15
So we move Luongo, Booth and a 1st in a very deep draft to get Goc and Hanzel?! Horrible.
apollo
I agree it is undervaluing Luongo... But, unfortunately to move him to Florida or anywhere at this point... you have to. If they could get more...they already would have. Florida doesn't really 'need' him and it seems it is the only team that Luongo would agree to be traded to. Florida's 2013 2nd round pick will be in the 31 to 35 range at this point... it's not that bad.
silver_surfer
Hanzal trade is awful for everyone but PHX. Terrible overpayment. Winds up as Luongo Booth and 1st for Hanzal and Goc... Gross
Claiborne55
Even if they were to accept luongo wouldn't want to go to a team that won't be in the playoffs this year. He would more likely accept a deal to florida iin the off season
elvis15
If there really were goalies as good as Luongo that are a lot cheaper options for a team to pick up, we would have seen a trade already. New Jersey needs a goalie, if not now then in a year's time. Florida clearly isn't ready to run with Markstrom. Same with Tampa and Lindback, and Washington with Holtby or Nuevirth. There's more as well, but most of those teams don't need another young goalie that has yet to prove their a starter like Bishop or Bernier, they need an established starter to be successful now rather than a few years from now. Regardless of that, it takes two teams to make a deal. Also, making a trade that gives up much, much more than what we get back isn't something any GM should sign off on, even if there's an immediate need.
