Yes, their contracts would start in 2014-15, but for playoff teams, they will not be available to the team during the playoffs this year.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Report: General Manager of the Preds will be talking to the media either today or tomorrow regarding the team's review of this season, its future, contract conversations etc.. With the speculations of a firing within team management, suggests that change will come sooner rather than later.
Azzy Mahmood
Can I please check - on re-negotiating player contracts, taken from the OP: "After the regular season ends, teams may hold formal negotiations with up to 6 players, but remember only a handful may sign extensions. When negotiating an extension with a player that has played with your club for the entire season (beginning Oct. 1, 2013), teams may offer up to an 8 year contract term if desired." Does this now mean I can hold formal negotiations with up to six players?

Primal Optimist
No unsigned players allowed, you simply post all available players under contract in your organization in the Playoffs, then from that list you post a 23 man active roster. The 23 man roster cannot be changed during the first round, however if you have for example a prospect called up and you make it to the second round etc you can place said player on your 23 man roster or make adjustments before locking the roster in for the next round.Okay so I think this is correct then...with 14 forwards i have to leave Andrew Johnston as a callup healthy scratch, right? since he would be the 15th forwardThe New York Rangers Playoff Lineup!!!Thomas Vanek, Joe Thornton, Jarome IginlaRyan Malone, Colton Sceviour, Rene BourqueTravis Moen, Daniel Winnik, Michael SgarbossaCarson MacMillan, Cody Bass, Craig CunninghamMarek Hrivik, Maxim ShalunovAndrej Meszaros, Sami SaloAlexei Emelin, Jake MuzzinKevin Klein, Marcus LauridsenSheldon SourayCallupF Andrew Johnston (PHI)
Primal Optimist
Okay, the draft lotto is tonight on TSN at i think 5 pacific..i will still be at work, but good luck to all, I actually hope a low % team will win it..like 11th through 14th...no offense to anyone, but I like an underdog! (not you washington!) Cheers and see you in the playoffs, those of you not involved in the lotto.

EKBLAD I'm not convinced Bennett, Reinhart or Draisatl have anything extra in their tank compared to previous high picks like Nuge or Yakupov. I want the real deal stud D man. Ekblad + Hamhuis would be a real strong pairing.

canuck2xtreme
All playoff rosters have been entered into the playoff pool. www.pickuphockey.com League: CDCGML 2013-14 Playoffs Password: cdcgml There are a number of prospect players that were listed for rosters that are not in the system. Rather than request about 25 junior players at once, let me know if one of the players gets into a game and I will get that player added.

And I suppose it would push management to move a guy like Edler and perhaps get some help in front in return in the deal. Personally I don't think you can go wrong in the top 4 with any of them.
