Assignment: The New York Rangers have assigned forward Johan Larsson to the Connecticut Whale.

Callup: The New York Rangers have recalled forward Devante Smith-Pelly from the Connecticut Whale.

Callup: The New York Rangers have recalled defenseman Robert Bortuzzo from the Connecticut Whale.

These roster moves follow a trade and a raft of injured players returning to active duty on the Rangers bench. The team has slid recently in the standings, once first in the league and first in the Metropolitan Division, the Rangers are now only 65 points out of 4th in their Div. Trading Matt Bartkowski reduced the strain of fitting so many healthy Dmen on the bench, but did nothing to improve the fortunes of the Rangers. It is expected that a more or less healthy roster will put up points at the pace the team set in the first 16 games of the year. GM Primal Optimist isn't worried, "Sometimes there is just a set of circumstances that bubbles up and simmers down, injuries, icetime situations, maybe a player isn't sleeping well with a newborn in the house. These things happen to every team, and our fantastic lineup is no different. When the losing streak ends, and we put up points consistently, like every team eventually does, we will all forget this little bubble."

Rangers lay a golden Egg.

The shotgun start to the New York Rangers season has, after the quarter turn, vaporized. The Rangers made some roster tweaks the last few weeks, removing Bartkowski, and Dvorak as well as demoting Johan Larsson for what may be the rest of the season. These moves were made to bring roster stability to the core group, and yet the response was a complete breakdown on scoring. "We have a mandatory team skate this morning, and likely we will see the guys spring back. In this league you can't take a night off, and that is exactly what we seem to have done last night. Disgraceful really, but I am confident in the group and I know we will slide back up the standings at some point"

"Tonight the Cavalry rides in. With all of our top point earners on the ice except for Jiri Hudler we expect to see a big night. The month is 2/3rds done and we have a battle for our three stars of November rankings. Patrick Bordeleau is having an outstanding month and may be a surprise star, but Dmen Sekera and Sbisa are pushing in as well as the usual suspects. The next nine days will go a long way to determining our trajectory in the league, and will settle our November 3 Stars debate!
