Lonny_Bohonos_14
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod 3m Sounds like the Blackhawks are close to a new deal with Ray Emery... http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/chi130702.html … The Chicago Blackhawks appear to be close to re-signing veteran goaltender Ray Emery to a new contract, a source close to the situation told TFP. Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman met with Emery's agent J.P. Barry on Sunday evening and will continue discussions this week. Emery, 30, earned $1.15 million this past season, where he posted a 17-1-0 record with a 1.94 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage. It's believed Emery will receive a fair raise, the source said, and the netminder is comfortable with his role with the organization, as the backup to Corey Crawford. In 228 career NHL regular-season games with the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks and Blackhawks, Emery has registered a 126-63-19 record with a 2.63 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. He was originally drafted by the Senators in the fourth-round (99th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
