euphoria/
to New Jersey: Brendan Gaunce To Vancouver: Michael Ryder (20% salary retained) 3rd round pick 2014 New Jersey pulls the trigger because they get a good 2-way centre who would look great amid a rather dismal prospect pool. Vancouver does this because they get a top-6 forward who is having a pretty bad year, but has a history of producing consistently. They also acquire a 3rd rounder that could be used as tradebait. Warhippy
we need a 3rd line center badly. Gaunce will step into that role fairly well next season and has much more upside than a simple 3rd line center. Nope

Nope Richardson and Santorelli seem to have that role covered quite well... edit: and I could see Horvat stepping in before Gaunce.
Plum
Isn't Ryder a rental? I'd rather not fall for this guy at the price of Gaunce. We could try a package and involve Gaunce, like Edler + Gaunce for a good player.

Absent Canuck
I think the players we should try to target at the deadline must make us competitive with Boston and Chicago. Assuming those two teams are better than St Louis LA and the Ducks. Our team needs a scoring top 3 forward for our second line and /or a high end 3rd line center with grit, toughness and a scoring touch. I say we go after Vanek, Cammy or Gaborik, and Steve Ott as the shut down guy.
