Canuckler87
Long time lurker who doesn't start many topics but I felt the need to start this one. So by my calculations, with the Edmonton loss yesterday & a win by Carolina over the Flyers today, we are currently sitting at the 6th spot in the draft. With the new lottery concept, how far up can we move from this position? Also, how far could we move down? Any feedback is appreciated
fightmeirl
We are drafting 6th right now, if a team ahead of us in the draft (edmonton...) wins the lottery we stay at 6. if a team befor us wins(capitals) we move down a spot because the new draft would look like this (some team that was befor us) buffalo edmonton flordia NY Calgary Vancouver
nuck in cow town
We win the lottery, 1st. Someone below us wins the lottery, 7th. Someone 1st to 5th wins the lottery, 6th.
Down by the River
We have about a 17% chance of moving to seventh (if a team placed 7th-14th wins the lottery) We have about a 6% chance of winning the lottery (in which case we would pick first) We have about a 72-73% chance of keeping the 6th pick (a team placed 1-5 wins the lottery
camerican18
If we end up 6th our chances look like this. Odds the Canucks draft 1st overall: 6.2% Odds the Canucks draft 6th overall: 76.8% Odds the Canucks draft 7th overall:17%
elvis15
Mentioned this in a couple of draft threads from earlier today, but the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in the Canucks Prospects & Utica Comets sub-forum has a number of people discussing our odds and who to potentially pick. If anyone has draft questions, that'd be a good place to start.
