Lost in all of replies and posts is what this thread is all about. Does anyone not care about them? Such a cruel world we live in...

Seriously though, we are messing up the planet for economic growth. Before the invisible hand theory was true; when people opened up businesses it was all about helping the world, providing a service and making the world a better place. People's drive for success would help improve the world.

Now with the stock market, managers(who's only duty was to reduce costs) we have flipped that model and it no longer remains true. Now we can open up a business, it can ruin the world and still make money.

The invisible hand does not exist to the extent that it used to. Just sad.

No one's forgotten, just that we're focusing on the root of the problem. Don't try and treat the symptoms, treat the cause.

EDIT: just to point to the part of the video that more pertains to the topic, it begins just after the 10 minute mark, talking about using mushrooms to treat flu and even H1N1 more effectively than pharmaceutical options, and then morphing that into a treatment for his own house for carpenter ants which led to the development of a patent - again based on mushrooms - that could potentially treat against 200,000 insect species.
