Where did I say they’d go 4-0?

4 games in hand with less than 30 games makes a big difference. Simple math will tell you that.

Clearly you’re a Bo fanboy and are rooting for the Isles, that’s fine.

Doesn’t change the reality that any team on the outside looking in with less games to play is gonna have a hard time getting in.

You treat them as they’re already won. They’re not. The Isles next truly difficult game is Feb 18 playing in Boston after playing Pittsburgh the night before.

They have a legit shot at an 8-0 run before their next loss.

So the Pens won’t win 4 of their games in hand but the Isles are winning 8 in a row?

Lol right bud.

Bet they’re not.

And who cares? Every team they’re chasing is going to have those easy teams down the stretch. It all evens out.

Doesn’t change the fact the margin of error is much smaller for them with those 4 more games played.

And now they have a scorer to go with good defense and a solid goalie. They’re a far more complete team and massively upgraded their roster. Only gave up Beauvillier of their roster to do so and got a huge upgrade in return.

I never said the Pens won’t win any of their 4 games. But I’m not writing off any teams immediately below them because FoUr GaMeS iN hAnD either.

So Bo’s gonna score every game for them?

Not sure how one scorer fixes what was an obvious lack of scoring. You don’t fix those issues with one player.  They’re still gonna struggle to score.

Not to mention the teams they’re chasing are gonna add at the deadline too. They won’t be the only ones upgrading.

And what if the Pens have a legit shot at winning those 4 games in hand? Or even three of those games in hand?

Thats 6-8 points to make up with less than 30 games to play. You may think that’s not a lot but this time of year it’s a mountain.

The Isles are not some juggernaut. The Canucks, Habs, and Sens could all beat them.   Far from a legit shot they’ll do anything in the next 4 games.

Wow, are you capable of having a discussion without resorting to jumping to extreme conclusions?

Did I say Bo is going to score all their goals or that he has to?

Also funny enough Pittsburgh has said they’re not all in right now so minor moves at best for them.

Washington may make a move like Mantha for Boeser or similar.

So far Bo is the best addition and the Isles get a minimum week or two head start with him in their system.  And he already looks to be gelling well with Barzal.

The best team they play of the 3 is 8 points behind and that's Ottawa. That’s as a legit a shot of going 3-0 in the bext 3 as you’re gonna get in the NHL.

Their problem was scoring.

You’re acting like Bo has fixed that problem all on his own. He hasn’t.

They’ll revert back to their old ways soon enough.

Except the separation from teams, especially non playoff teams, is not that much.

The Sharks just beat the Lightning tonight and they’re 23 points behind them. What a pointless argument.

They have fine depth scoring, they didn’t have a go to scorer. They have that now.

Have they fixed the problem entirely? No but they are substantially closer than they were with Beauvillier.

Treating it as an absolute they won’t make the playoffs is a pointless argument then. Thank you for admit that finally.

If you don’t think the Islanders have a better shot at making the playoffs than they did last week now with Horvat in the lineup over Beauvillier, you’re flat out delusional.

And you acting like they’ve already won their next four games is what?

Im not saying they can’t make it I’m saying it’s very unlikely. Simple math would tell you what you’re failing to see.

Of course they have a better chance. But again to make up ground on teams with less than 30 games to go, is very tough. Especially when those teams you’re chasing are veteran teams that make the playoffs year in and year out.

A realistic shot at 8-0 before playing Pittsburgh is not “acting like they have” nice try at putting words in my mouth as usual.

You don’t know what you’re saying half the time so someone has to.

How often do teams go on 8 game winning streaks let alone teams as inconsistent as the Isles?

Keep rooting for your new favourite team though!

Realistic shot at an 8-0 =\= treating it as if they have. Not sure why you cannot comprehend that.
