  1. If you can get a goalie like that for under 1 million there’s no reason the Canucks shouldn’t make a signing like this rather than forcing Silovs to the NHL early or relying on Martin .
  2. Definitely a value player at 4 million, I would think a player like Hoglander could have got this done.
  3. Sign him to a 4 year deal at 1.1M per year on a 1 way deal. If he’s in the AHL oh well the cap can burried so doesn’t hurt us. Also it FA’s money not ours. This would give us a ton of upside. Hirose would secure his financial future with 4.4M. He trades a bit of potential earning for upside. even if he’s doesn’t become at top 4 D-Man it doesn’t hurt the Canucks.
  4. He didn’t get papered down because he requires waivers to be sent down. It would be great if he could play in the AHL but not sure if he’d be claimed or not. His trade value was low because he hasn’t proved himself and requires waivers. My guess is he would get claimed at the moment but if he continues to struggle next season it’s possible he could be sent down without being claimed. IMO he’s not ready for the NHL so if we did lose him on waivers it wouldn’t be the end of the world. if the Canucks were rebuilding they could take their time with him on the NHL roster but since they are trying to make the playoffs next year I predict he’s not on the team. He has this summer and training camp to prove he deserves a spot.
  5. On the left side we have Hughes on the right side we have Bear and Hronek. Hopefully we can trade Myers. The Canucks need more right side D but left side D is a need too.
  6. Signing Schenn and letting Bear go wouldn’t be bad but I think Schenn will get a bit of a raise
  7. “It doesn’t sound like he’s inclined to talk to whatever team ends up acquiring him about an extension at this point in time and so you’d be spending those three assets for a rental player who probably wants to become a free agent this summer,” Chris Johnston (TSN)
  8. This is what I’d like to see the Canucks do with the defense and it is realistic: Hughes Livingstone(BC boy) Gavrikov Hronek OEL Bear Livingstone May actually sign as a BC boy and has an excellent opportunity with this team to very strong selling points for Vancouver. Gavrikov has the Russian connection and another Milstein client. cap space? Livingstone will be on ELC so no more than any replacement. To sign Gavrikov we would need to trade Garland or Boeser and Myers at 50% retained.
  9. That was also said after the last trade deadline. I hope you are right
  10. I liked some of the trades but the deadline is a failure. 3 times now (last deadline, draft and this deadline) the Canucks failed to free up cap space and trade JT Miller
  11. 3M in cap space. If Canucks retain around 1M a deal is definitely possible for Brock, maybe a player comes back.
  12. This is true but we are also over the cap. Future picks could also still be flipped for the piece they desire.
  13. Accepting the fact we are doing a re-tool id be interested in getting Sturm if I was the Canucks since the sharks are selling. He’s not old but not too young (27) he’d be a good fit as a 3rd line center with two more years after this at 2M and one of the better faceoff guys in the league. 6’3” 209LBS 12G -8A -20P in 54GP solid 3rd line center
  14. After flipping a draft pick already, does this team not realize they can flip draft picks for players at the draft?
  15. Looking like a bust, not great AHL numbers. 0 points in 12 NHL games, only 22 though.
  16. Winger for D-man or center would be ideal. Even indirectly like Winger for pick/prospect then use that cap space in the summer.
  17. Another potential Boeser landing spot gone. After acquiring Hronek there has to be other plans to improve the team (defense 3rd line center) but I don’t see how they are going to create the cap space.
  18. The reason Detroit traded Hronek and also the reason the Canucks traded for him is because he plans on converting into a winger. source: Trust me bro
  19. I agree, the surprise comes from the fact that the Canucks are trading away picks instead of acquiring picks. Now that I think of it though, I’m not sure why I’d be surprised given the last decade of Canucks hockey.
